"Your German is very good," Kurt said with a genuine smile. If Wyngarde had searched for a fast way to gain a few points with the teleporter, he had chosen right, and Kurt didn't mind admitting it to himself. He liked the English language, but his mother tongue was still easier to speak and reminded him of home.
Kurt leaned forward slightly, his back in a curve that would leave most humans with severe backaches after about twenty seconds. While Wyngarde spoke, he nodded along. That's certainly a reasonable request. Unless he has something else planned for me or wants to steal whatever it is we will retrieve, but I doubt it.
"Ja, I can help you with that. I understand why you don't want to rely on us for everything," Kurt agreed as Wyngarde had made his proposal. "If you tell me what you need me to do, I'll help you." Hesitating for a second, he then added: "I'll ask a favour, too, if you don't mind. I have never been inside one of your illusions. Maybe if you show me afterwards... or if it doesn't work if I know beforehand, some other time, that would be great." He paused shortly, and then, grinning (but only half-joking): "Not while I'm crossing the highway, though."
Don't want to give anyone an opportunity to kill me with my blessing.
