Re: Johnny-come-lately
Wyngarde had never been one to be forced into anything, and teleporting in particular made him wildly uncomfortable, but he didn't let it show in his face. While Kurt and many of the others may have seen any teamwork between himself, Creed, and Magneto as rebuilding an old rival group, to him it was anathema, a distasteful mockery of his own past in some ways, and while he was willing to explore the opportunity to work with people that loosely resembled those he'd known years ago, he mostly just in it to ensure the highest benefit and lowest cost to himself and his own happiness.
When Uanaume entered on the heels of Creed's exit, he acknowledged the young man's arrival with a slight nod of his head and a quiet "Mr. Uanaume." Despite what the weather-man may have thought, Wyngarde had not ignored him the day before, at least not intentionally. When one finds oneself suddenly not dead and surrounded by people that would sooner kill him than trust him, finding comfort in the consistency of Creed, regardless of dimension, had been his top priority.
He was, however, ignoring Erik, for at least the moment. He had little interest in sparking any contention between them this early, so he would do as he was asked, but not without letting it known he wasn't pleased.
"Herr Wagner, I'll understand if you're less than comfortable entertaining the thought of letting me into your mind." While his German was rusty, it was more than serviceable, and his accent wasn't as bad as some. "I was going to ask a favor of you later, and I hope that it would give you an opportunity to perhaps see who I am." He'd not done much fighting directly with his own dimension's dark teleporter, though he was sure that Kurt must have heard from teammates about the atrocious actions of his past self...and he significantly doubted that Kurt's own Wyngarde was much different than himself. Turning his pale eyes to Erik once more and pausing to suck almost viciously on his cigarette, he spoke again.
"If this mission is going to have any chance of success I'd venture a guess that some trust has to be built up between us where none has been before." Glancing back to Kurt's expressive, almost inhuman face, he considered his words carefully for a moment. "When you have a few hours to spare, I would appreciate some of your time and energy."
