Do You Believe In Magic?
"'Let him go?' What are you talking about? I am Billy!"
The teen mage rises to his knees runs a hand through his unruly black hair with an exhalation of exasperation.
"Look...OK, there's a simple way to resolve this."
His hands and eyes come alive with magical energy again.
"Let me do this; if I'm right, it won't hurt you. And no more hitting me, OK?"
A burst of energy pulses around both of them, the blue light striking Teddy, but washing over him like waves on the beach, rather than any pain. As the energy ripples across Teddy's large form, it shrinks, first losing the white fur, then the green, serrated carapace of skin, until all that remains is a blond, young, human-looking man, with way too many piercings and only slightly better-built than Billy himself.
When the light fades, the witch looks at the other man...his man...in disbelief.
"I--I don't understand. I threw all my power into that...if you were a Skrull or another mutant, that should have snapped you into your true form...but if that's it..."
