“That’s the point.” Victor interrupted in a humorless tone. “They’ve been tryin’ real hard…at bein’ somethin’ they ain’t ever gonna be. At least, not entirely…”
“Riddle me this: Why is it you clowns are so quick ta’ turn the other cheek an’ forget about your own atrocities, but once I’m in th’ picture, suddenly I’m the crazy one? Everyone’s lost count of all th’ skeletons in their closets, but you’ve memorized how many I got!” He brought a finger up to his lips before Kurt could bother to reply to the question.
“Don’t answer that. I’ll tell ya’ why. It’s cause deep down, everyone on th’ planet is a selfish asshole. All in varyin’ degrees, of course. Your buddies are willin’ to put up with each other’s shit, as long as there’s somethin’ in it for themselves in th’ long haul. I mean, it must be nice knowin’ if ya’ shack up in a place like this, you’ll never have ta’ work again. The money flow never ends here; yer set for life.”
The man smirked. “An’ I can’t lie, some of you are pretty easy on th’ eyes…” Shockingly, he let his gaze slowly wander up and down Kurt’s physique. “If I was promised a hot, tight piece a’ ass, but figured out they were a murderin’ bastard, I’d look the other way too. See, we act on impulse – sometimes unknowingly, sometimes fully aware. It ain’t gotta make sense to nobody else but us; that’s all the rationalization we need.” Victor then lifted his arms, and became more animated with his body language as he continued his monologue.
“I mean, c’mon. I know why I kill humans: Besides the fact they wanna kill me and all my kind first, and that they just get on my god damn nerves, it’s cause’ I fuckin’ want to. What thief do you know knocks over casinos just for the hell of it, or sits in the pocket of a crazy geneticist like Mr. Sinister for years? He just wanted to do that! An’ th’ runt? Tch…” Victor paused and rolled his eyes. “…Let’s just say even I had to pull him away from some of th’ shit he wanted ta’ do.”
Creed then folded those powerful arms across his chest, and looked at the blue mutant with a chastising glare. “Life ain’t as blue an’ pink as you make it out ta’ be. Sometimes, ya’ gotta sink low in order ta’ fly high. What I do ain’t pretty, but it gives me a high like no other. Kinda comes with th’ territory of havin’ this gene.”
“I always look out for me – since no one else ever will. Sometimes, luck sets it up to where my interests help everybody else. I want a strong species ta’ live, an’ since th’ humans can’t get th’ stick outta’ their asses an’ act right, I’ll volunteer ta’ pull it out an’ club ‘em over th’ head with it till their brain drips outta their ears!”
