"If you were the model, I'd buy ten of those bikes. You have the color back in your cheeks. It's stunning."
Eva was grinning like an idiot and may well have bitten her lower lip; putty in Steve's strong... able hands. There were words about the Avengers and 'the case' in between the things that she'd truly registered, so she quickly sat up after the tap to her foot and she looked Captain Rogers in the eye. "Thank you," she said, genuinely. "I'm good - I told you," she assured him, smirking a bit but mentally going back to work. She logged the address and her head leaned toward the front of the bike, signalling she was through. Her hands snatched up her helmet and she thought quickly to find something to use as an excuse for her spacy brown-out. Oh. The truth - right. "I'm sorry, for being a little distracted. It's amazing what sunlight and white noise can do for the spirit. I swear I'm not a shut-in." The professor laughed a bit, then quieted gradually as she realized that she was more of a hermit now than she wanted to admit. But truth be told, Steve didn't seem too worried. In fact, he'd been flirty - which surprised the electrokine, based on reputation alone. Maybe they were in the same (sad) boat...
"So... Warren doesn't like other tall blond men? Does that mean you do?"
Ahhh; that explained the lingering. She felt a tingle in her nethers and the Cuban woman bit her lip behind the mask of her helmet. She was grinning again, but cooled her face before removing the helmet to answer her company. She needed to get her shit together - Logan was in jail, Warren was being a neanderthal and she was at the home of a murder witness with no telepath at hand. Answer the question, she coached herself. "Yeah," she nodded, looking Steve in the face as they both dismounted. She took his assistance and then placed her hands on her hips for a moment. "We dated," he seemed curious - "as teens, then later on. He went and joined up with the NYPD and didn't tell me, and I took the job at the school and that was the end of it. I don't want to do something long distance, you know? Plus... the fighting." She gave a 'c'est la vie' smile and raised her eyebrows, letting go of the topic. "But I do like men who want to help people - I know, it's a terrible trait," she nodded, and passed through the door they'd been walking to after Steve opened it for her.
In again, up some stairs, and then Steve was shushing her. Her eyes went wide and she nearly grabbed Cap before he lunged for the person out of view. She knew he'd been around the block, but he wasn't wearing any protection and the idiot might've had a gun. Astrape could've put the person down in an instant. And after seeing said person, she wanted to. Eva's jaw clenched and she moved forward to break Steve's grip on Mandrake. After taking the corner, she saw Network and her frown deepened. Her own protege...
"Guys, seriously? Sarah - did you already copy those files? For God's sake, you two!"
Network's face was a mixture of panic and embarrassment. They'd just gotten scolded in front of the leader of the Avengers. Ow. "I did, but I just thought that if we could talk to-"
"NOOOPE. And you pushed things along, didn't you?" She looked to the Murphy boy, the natural persuader, from a family of pushy, nosy, flirty men. "You guys could've gotten hurt! Or worse."
"Expelled?" Network jested, with a quiet, false laugh to punctuate her effort.
Astrape's eyes went wide and she swallowed hard, glancing away from her students briefly to gather her composure. "Get back to the school, and don't go digging around without telling anyone what's going on again - okay? If you two were seen here talking to this guy, it could make things a lot worse for Logan. Now go - please." She glanced to Steve, as if she'd need backup with all the indigo static popping in her hair and across her eyes.
