"Oh, and she grows horns and a tail like... Nobody I know." Ay dios mio. Zap's eyes had flicked threateningly toward Ronan as they rode down on the lift. Her father took over barking orders and she began a list of everyone's whereabouts-to-be. Children in lounge. Dom in security. Ronan waiting for Illyana by lift. Logan with children. Nathaniel in cellblock 3. At least, those were the orders. For the moment, Ronan had lingered to play middle man for her pants delivery.
She kicked off her heels, pulled the pants up under her dress, then disrobed the top half and folded it into a wad of sheer fabric. "Thanks," she told him. There was a laundry list, so she'd kept it simple.
"Pleasant, delightful, pleasurable. Sorry, just thinking about that thesaurus."
"You had your shot to get in these pants, but you passed it off..." she grinned as she finished buttoning and tucking behind the cover of Ronan's modest width shoulders and torso. "Stop distracting me," this statement lacked the lilt of levity as the one previous. "Take Illyana to Eric first." She turned and tapped Mars on the shoulder to let him know she was ready to head into the other room. "They're on their way down now. Tell Forge if Piotr breaks orders. We really need him with the students." There was only one thing in the world Colossus would ever consider abandoning a post for - his sister. Rightly so.
"I hope new guy caught all that about Magik," Eva said, tilting her head to signify she was wishing Nate luck. They'd soon find out.
Once she'd turned away from Mars again, Zap made for room 3 and entered, then set the electronic lock behind her. "Hello," she greeted Nate as she began to check the room for any tampering or technological issues. "He'll be watching," she motioned to the panels as she crouched to look under the table's clear surface. They were two-way mirrors.
Finally, she stood erect, stretched her shoulders and squared her stance. "What can I do to help?" The ball was in his court now. If she needed to chant, or scribble, or meditate, she was ready to get off the bench. Though she had a feeling there was going to be more to her participation than she could prepare for in the next few minutes...
Her heart rate had finally begun to slow, and Zap looked up at Nate's face, watching the gears whir behind his eyes. "And are you okay?" It was a fair question, she felt. When he'd snatched his child up and clung to him like Sunday pearls, he'd looked a little green in the gills.
