Season of the Witch
CHARACTERS: Dr. Eric Blake, Evangeline Silvercloud, & Lorna Dane.
TOPIC: Wine o'clock.
DATE & TIME: Friday, July 24th 2020. 3:15pm.
LOCATION: Headmistresses Office.
As he walked through the academic halls, Dr. Eric Blake confidently carried a big wicker picnic basket with a spring in his step. Despite the curious look from the green-haired mutant sitting at her desk, he hadn't slowed down a step. "Ms. Dane," he greeted her with a smile and moved beyond her desk toward Eva's office doors.
"Doctor..." Lorna's eyes grew wide at the cavalier nature of the tall, blond man's actions. Her magnetic energy caused the reinforced doors to creak as she prevented his entry by barring the door. "I'm sorry, Dr. Blake," she apologized and rechecked Eva's appointments for the day. "Headmistress Silvercloud has a critical meeting with Dr. McCoy scheduled for the next hour."
"Ah, of course," Eric said and remained both optimistic and chipper. The professional, no-nonsense assistant to the headmistress was reliably reliable, as always. "But if you examine that appointment and no doubt your copious notes on said entry, you'll notice that it was made via text. I borrowed Hank's phone to make the appointment," Dr. Blake explained with his hand still on the unmovable door knob. "Furthermore, if you can use your location app for Hank's current position, you'll find that he's currently in New York City."
Lorna's curious expression turned sour, and she did pick up her Xavier-issued phone and selected Dr. McCoy's name. "I see," she said, her teeth gritted. "Why?"
"Is he in New York? I don't know, really. Something dull, I believe." Eric said and idly tugged on the still magnetized door.
"No," Lorna barked. "Why did you make an appointment from his phone?" She clarified for the basket-wielding man.
"Oh, yes. The element of surprise," Dr. Blake said. "And if I had requested an hour of Eva's time in the middle of the day, you would have told me no," Eric added but meant no offense. "You would have told me her time was much too valuable to spend with someone she would see later."
Lorna shifted in her seat, annoyed that she'd be so accurately called out. "Yes, well... she's swamped." Lorna defended herself and Eva's time. "However, it seems she has a free hour," Lorna begrudgingly admitted and released the oversized doors.
"You're an angel," Eric confirmed and opened the door to Eva's office. Once inside, he immediately noticed her behind the immense desk and quickly shut the door after him. Eric locked the office door, strolled happily toward Eva, and placed the sizeable picnic basket atop the desk.
Eva's perfume lingered around the office, and her professional attire gave him fits inside his own buttoned-up wardrobe. "I packed us an office lunch," he said, then opened one of the flaps and produced a chilled bottle of wine and two glasses. "But if you just want to get day drunk and handsy on your couch... I'm your doctor."
