Qiana gave a faux-frightened look at Orrin's cryptic words of warning, which had replaced her fond smile at his utterance about Rosalynn. "I don't plan on turning in early, if that's what you're implying," the well-documented party girl promised.
"She's getting so big..." Jo said by way of greeting. Her eyes were on Rosalynn but she was standing close to Qiana. She looked up at Orrin and gave him a smile that was small but grateful. "I guess we're all along for the ride, huh?" Her growth rate was impossible to diagnose. There were going to be surprises along the way for the foreseeable future.
"Was that a horse pun?" Qiana asked with a smirk.
"Oh," Jo shook her head, "god no," then she shot Tress a look that said 'really? really?'. Finally, the doctor cracked a smirk. Her focus returned to Orrin, "Civilized into beasts, hm?" she asked, letting slip that she'd eavesdropped on their last few words alone together. "I'm not sure who I feel sorrier for tonight - the Midgardians or the rest." She took a drink of her champagne and then rose her glass in a solitary toast.
