"Nothing," Nathaniel said quickly, and fought the urge to take what his father had said personally. They spared verbally, it was fun, normally. "But we love each other and this is what we wanted and Thor supports us," Nathaniel smiled toward Eva, having used her strength to share the happy news with his parents.
"That's... wonderful," Karen confirmed and gave Eva a larger, more intense hug. "I'm so happy you two found each other," she added with a smile and this time didn't let Eva go.
"Yeah," Richard chimed in. "Same here," he tipped the imaginary hat on his head toward them. "I'm glad to see my son can still punch above his weight class like his old man," he explained with a smirk. "We Zale men have a habit of falling for women too good for us," he said with a more genuine smile.
"That's true," Nathaniel agreed with his father, making eye contact with Eva while she was still visible over Karen's shoulder. "We're the worst," he explained needlessly to Eva.
"Hey lookie there," Richard exclaimed when the closest peacock displayed it's feathers.
Nate rolled his eyes, though it was a roll of endearment. Then he turned back toward Eva. "Okay, mom. Let Eva breathe again," he lightly pleaded for his wife's release.
