June 2018
Thanos had been vanquished. His people, all peoples, had been returned and reunited with their beloveds. Thor had spent the days since doing little else than celebration, a triumphant victory lap which was cut tragically short. His people needed a home and from the looks of it, so did Eva's. Thor mosied the lab beneath Xavier's school, paper cup in hand and spoon in mouth. He approached the workstation the electrokine currently occupied and offered a spoonful of his frozen treat. "It's gelato," the Asgardian told her, though she was probably aware. "Would you like some?" he offered and rested his hip against the table. "I had a thought..." he informed. "This new Asgard we've been designing... why don't mutants come too?" he question then took another bite of his gelato. "I mean, you'll be there," he added unsure if he'd actually verbalized that. "Of course, if you want to be. With me. Long term." He spoke in broken sentences because of the slight case of nerves he'd developed. "I love you, Eva. Come with me. Bring your people and this gelato." |
"It is," she agreed, hands pouring over Weenie's blueprints, "yes I would," Eva answered Thor's second sentence. She opened her mouth, recieved food, then watched his face while he spoke almost-broken English at her. Zap swallowed and her eyebrows rose with surprise (and excitement). "Mutants too..." she repeated, while her mind mulled over the idea, in tandem with her tongue and the gelato. "Define long term..." Zap smirked. Once her face had relaxed again, there were more fastballs coming at her. She stared, unblinking at his last request until Zap erupted with laughter. "I... am not a spokesperson for mutants, but I can get in touch with quite a few of them..." she mused. "I don't hate the idea. I mean, not everyone will agree with moving to technically a new 'country', but I could see the majority being on board. I hadn't really considered..." mutants other than her friends and family who'd offered to help. "Of course there'll be gelato. I'll get you a Starbucks lined up, if that's what you want," she smirked. "I love you too," she gave him a wink and then her face crept in closer and closer until her lower lip was against the brim of his cup. |
Long term? "Forever." Starbucks, noted. Thor was pleased when Eva considered his proposal so seriously and when she accepted his sugary offering. Thank you, Charlotte. He smirked at her final words, when she attached herself to his cup, Thor gently pulled the frozen snack and the Latina snack toward him. The God of Thunder lowered his head and replaced the cup of gelato with his own lips - which also tasted like gelato. The sudden rush of sweetness and heat caused a reaction that forced Thor to pull Eva to him, among other bodily reactions. "I feel like we've decided something here," he told her after their kiss. Body still pressed against Eva, Thor fed his love another spoonful then smooched her head while she ate. "We congregate these mutant leaders and we display our plans for Vernal Asgard," the king listed in a kingly manner while he gestured with his spoon. "Offer them what you've offered me. Hope for the future," he told her, a more sincere smile on his face. "How could anyone say no?" he mused, eyes lovingly locked with Eva's. |
Forever? Their forevers were very much different concepts. It was something she probably should've addressed then and there, but Zap's mouth was full and her ears were busy and then her lips were being kissed. Thor was coming at her from all directions. Even the pelvic region. Whew! Was the AC off? She swallowed, again, and put her hands on Thor's waist after she'd been pulled to him. "That is... something that sounds easier than it will probably be. But it's a good start." Mutants were a fractured, hidden, sometimes hated people. There was no pride banner. There was no mutant history month. Their leaders came in all sorts, most less traditional than Thor was probably used to. Hope was a powerful thing... "We can speak with Charles, get some feedback, take a peek into some of the other brains around the school. I know we can count on my family..." Eva grinned and then bumped her hips against Thor's where they stood. "Count me and Dom in," said Edwina. "I need to see if this bird flies and for how long." She was joking. Mostly. Oh, right, Weenie. "Thanks for that..." Eva shot back sarcastically with some side-eye. "Not in front of the Asgardian..." "Right, right. We're a super dependable people who never blow anything up, not even whole buildings full of children." "Oh my god." |
"I have done much with merely 'good starts'," he boasted because he still hadn't heard a 'no'. Unfortunately his attempt for another kiss was derailed by the one called Weenie. Had she been here the entire time? "It's fine," he told Eva through a chuckle. "Wait, full of children?" "Are we going to Asgard?" Dom entered the conversation from stage right, his rolling chair bumping into his sister's side. "Cool, now I don't have to sneak aboard. Sorry, Eva. We weren't staying anyway." Dom let their often-time work partner know. "Were any of the children hurt?" Thor inquired again, while the mutant twins kept going. "We aren't the only ones that want to go, FYI," Dom informed the power couple. Thor, finally past the building full of children, was enthusiastic to hear Dominic's words. "This is encouraging," he said, focused back on just Zap. "This is all because of you, Eva." Thor reminded her, his loving gaze returned. "I will build you this new world with my bare hands, if need be." |
"No, the kids were fine, they're all over the school now - as grown ups. Oh, it was this building. This is the building that blew up. Not just once, either. A boy twin saved them all that first time. Not this one, this one is terrible," Weenie rambled and pointed to her brother at the finale of her statement. She'd nodded along with her brother's sentiments. There was no way they were missing out on a viking sky ship party. "All hail our Asgardian overlords!" Ha-hah! She slammed her fist against the table with glee. Meanwhile, Zap had sidled up next to Thor so they were a bit of a united front against the Bystroms' shenanigans. "Weenie - it's fine, he gets it. Don't-" "Yes, your majesty," the constructor joked back at Zap. Zap's hand snapped outward with her index finger pointed at Fortress and a fiery look of warning in her eyes. "Forgive me, your highness," the blonde said and bowed her head, fueled by insight, antagonizing tendencies and excitement. "Off with your head," Zap's eyes flicked to Dom, "and his by proxy." Sigh. "We're all going to help and have a hand in creating this new place, don't go around assuming titles, you two." Especially titles for her. |
Thor liked their shenanigans, it pleased him. The Bystroms shall live, the king joked to himself while the playful discord between the trio continued. "I knew you'd be the death of me," Dom told his sister after Eva's comment about his head. "I mean..." Thor started and scooped a hearty spoonful of gelato up. He turned to Eva and inserted the overloaded bite into her month and insured it would be busy for a moment. "You could be our queen," the Allfather floated nonchalantly, as though it was nothing of note. "Of course, we would need to be married. Which I'd only given great thought to," Thor admitted. "But perhaps that was implied in my 'forever'," he was much too intense for his own good sometimes. "I'm not asking you now," he clarified. "Because all I have is this gelato to offer and I could do better," he believed. "But Evangeline, I'd like you to know that I intend on asking you to be my wife," Thor informed her with all the sincerity he could muster in his voice. "I love you, I wouldn't lead you on if I didn't think I could make you happy... forever." |
"Forever..." Weenie whispered from the sidelines, the sound of it foreboding. She glanced to Dom with worry and awkwardness set to full blast behind her goggles, then lifted them and motioned for him to follow her to the exit. Phew, almost caught some feelings. Oh my, that was a lot, Zap thought. And then Thor did the thing he excelled at and added more (less gelato, more words). Thank god for frozen dairy. She wasn't able to get a word in, and that was probably the best thing that could've happened, because Thor's full plan - his intentions for their relationship - had been laid out before her. It was just... brainstorming. He was just spitballing. Hard swallow. "You have a long time to figure out who's best for that job, you know," the Native pointed out. "Don't rush into anything on account of my... you know, unsnapping?" Whatever they were going to call what they'd done to help the universe at large. Her eyes turned softer and she pushed the gelato out of Thor's hands and onto the work table. "I love you, and I'm happy to help you - in any way I can. Let's get things off the ground," literally, "and see where that takes us first. Okay?" She squeezed him in her arms and put her head on Thor's shoulder for a silent minute. "You're a lot. It's a good thing I'm a hedonist." |
