Suddenly Nathaniel was getting a back massage and there was no argument from him. While she soothed what ailed him, Eva offered him an explanation? Apology? A promise to do better? Maybe all three rolled into one? It didn't matter, Nathaniel determined underneath Zap's palms. She didn't own him any of those things. Caltrops wasn't being cantankerous when he referred to Eva as the Queen of his Universe. The actual Queen of Asgard had become his lone deity and focus of his earthly, no, underworldly worship. Eva could have thrown a fit over New York Fashion Week and Nate would have happily rained destruction down on her behalf.
"Good, I don't want you to hide anything from me," Nate shared, his head turned sideways and perched on his pillow. "No, I'll be wide aw..." he drifted off and faked a snore. "Awake," he added after pretending to wake back up. Eva's rubs had actually caused him to relax enough, sleep wouldn't have been so difficult. When she pulled away from his shoulders, Nate shifted his body and turned onto his back beneath her. Eyes now locked on her and a contented smile on his face, Nate ensnared both of Eva's hands. "You've always done exactly what I've needed you to do," he offered quietly. "If you hadn't walked away from me, I wouldn't have constructed this place, and we wouldn't be here now," Nate reasoned. "I didn't sign up for watered down Zap, I want the full flavored experience," he teased then readjusted her robe so that the perfect amount of cleavage was visible. "That's part of us. All your walls come down."
