Uproarious laughter poured from Ronan when Gael rejected his impromptu bath and instead insisted on a shower. The car had swerved a tad, but more from the Irishman's chuckles than the actual water he'd been covered with. There was just enough water in the bottle for Ronan to finish it with a sip, because that pretzel had been salty and Gael had wasted her bit.
Mars cooperated when his extremity was drafted into service and marveled at Gael's ability to wrap herself around his arm so many times in the front seat of a moving vehicle. Reverie was colder than he'd expected, which almost made Mars regret his water stunt. Almost. "Yeah, it's mostly 'cause ye're awful." Ronan interjected into her story, he'd grinned just in case doubts about his seriousness crept in. "Don't get used to it." The extremely private Murphy warned, "I struggle with complex emotional relationships." Ronan quoted something Russ had told him, then squeezed whatever part of Gael's leg his hand had ended up on. "But I do," he added, "and ye're not too awful."
"Watch it, girly." Ronan flashed a smirk toward Gael, bit of a mixed signal warning. "As my new future sister-in-law says, 'You should only have to hear about someone's dreams or past lives if you get to fuck 'em'." He paraphrased then steered the car onto the exaggerated Xavier's drive way, toward the sub-divisions and the Murphy house. "But maybe," Mars offered not to reject her thought completely. "Somethin' ta explain why I already like ye more than the rest of 'em, 'cept Kellan." Of course, he was the best of them, wasn't he? Yes, he was.
The black sedan crept quietly through the neighborhood until it rolled up the Murphy driveway. "I did mean it." Ronan started, after he shut off the car. "I love ye. Now get out." He smirked and pointed to the main house. "We both know ye'll be up in the carriage house before long anyway." He huffed, secretly happy she'd taken a liking to his above garage quarters but unwilling to ever tell her. "I'd like five minutes to change." He added, then shoooed her.
