DATE & TIME: November 25th, 2017, 8:01am.
LOCATION: Westchester sheriff's office.

The technopath had mentally perused their electronic files and even most of the CO's phones and laptops while she awaited 8am's arrival. There was nothing strange to report. When she was summoned back after being frisked and pickpocketed, her heart was a rock in her chest, unbeating. The short maze of hallways gave her time to reconsider showing her face but bringing no consolation. Short of making things so, so much worse, she couldn't singlehandedly free Logan until trial. That was Dave's department.
There was a tall, thin window in the door to the room where the inmates were sitting, waiting for their visitors. She saw him and her face contorted into a pained frown. Logan was there, waiting for his visitor... hopefully, Dave with good news. But it was Eva, instead. The door opened and she and her fellow visitors were told to enter the room. With her bag stowed away, she had nothing to occupy her shaky hands, so she held them together, fingers twisting tensely. Eva bit down on the inside of her cheek to keep her miserable frown from returning, but she couldn't muster a smile. Her heart was beating again, though, probably too fast. There was a chair opposite each of the inmates and she stood behind hers for a few moments, looking at Logan and trying not to feel completely helpless.
She turned to look at the CO behind her, standing near the door and she pleaded with him silently to give her a headstart... She sat, finally, and slowly reached her hand across the table and squeezed Logan's warm fingers with her own. After a few beats, the male voice behind her rang out reminding them of the 'no touching' policy, and she flashed blue lightning through her dark eyes, head held steady, and fingers still holding on to Logan.
"That's enough!"
She clenched her jaw and squeezed Wolverine's hand fiercely before letting go and steadying her breathing so the ugly halogen light above them would stop flickering. Eva swallowed hard and took a deep breath, then tried to relax her face. Her eyes stayed on Logan's hazel ones as she spoke. "We miss you."
