Rhiannon was a homebody at heart. Home was her happy/safe place but since Tuesday night, home was feeling a little less safe and more than a little less happy. Lorna was hurt - injured by some hellbeast and was now laid up in the infirmary. It'd been such a shock to the senses when she returned home from her weekly book club meeting to see the magnekine being ushered out on a stretcher. And then there was the blood in the kitchen...
Granted, most of it had been sopped up by the time she got there but it still looked like a scene out of a horror movie. No one else had been at home at the time of the attack, apparently. It was a good thing, in retrospect. Even so, Fable couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for not being there. Yes, it was silly/stupid for her to think such a thing. There would have been no way of knowing something like this would happen. That was life. Unpredictable and (so often) cruel.
It'd been a few days but neither Kiernan or herself were comfortable enough to leave for the weekend to "try for a baby". Instead, they opted to stay home and hole up in his bedroom to do the do but nothing had happened yet. She was distracted - or rather 'shook', as Troy might say.
The redhead let out a frustrated sigh and shifted her weight to lay on her side, the better to see Kiernan. "I'm sorry," she sighed again, feeling like a total and utter failure. He was trying to keep up his end of the bargain and her body was not cooperating. It was the Gobi desert down there. "Maybe," sigh, "maybe we should just, y'know, wait until next cycle." She went to lay on her back then and covered her face with her hands in defeat.
