“Are you sure you’re going to be alright, Grandpa?” Rosmerta pulled on her gloves as she addressed the old wizard before her.
“Of course, Love.” Grandpa answered, “don’t you worry about us. We’ll get on just fine. Go and have a good time at that book signing and don’t forget to pick up my book ‘Indigenous Magical Herbs of the Orient and How to Grow Them’. I want to start that medicinal garden this spring.”
Esmeralda Pudfoot was coming to Flourish and Blott’s in Diagon Alley to sign her new romance novel ‘The Paid Companion’ and Rosmerta just was not going to miss it. If Grandpa was uncomfortable with her leaving, she told herself that she would close the pub for the afternoon rather than miss this event. Esmeralda Pudfoot hadn’t put out a new book in 6 years and her last one ‘The Rake and the Wallflower’ stayed on the Daily Prophet’s best seller list for over a year.
“Well alright, if you insist.” Rosmerta wrapped her scarf around her neck, leaned over and gave Grandpa a peck on the cheek, took out her wand and Apparated with a pop. She purposely Apparated right in front of Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions. Rosmerta loved to shop for shoes and she wanted to see what Madam Malkin had in new. She usually wasn’t too impressed with what she had to offer in shoes preferring to to go into Muggle London to some of the more trendy shops but she felt compelled to look anyway. Standing in front of the window and peering in, her convictions were correct. Nothing interesting.
Turning to walk toward Flourish & Blott’s Rosmerta spied a queue coming out of the book store. She had expected to have to wait in line but she thought she had gotten there early enough to avoid a very long line. She headed inside to get the book along with the book she need to pick-up for Grandpa.
