Re: In Hogsmeade... The hand with which he wields power?
Adrian was not at all sure he liked the sound of that. He was nobody's ... hired hand. But on the other hand, so to say, Lestrange might be in a position to ease Adrian's route towards the goal of his ambitions. One hand washed the other, quid pro quo... Something that Adrian believed very much in.
Could he however trust a former Death Eater with obvious ambitions for more enough to involve himself professionally with the man? Wouldn't father be terribly proud, when he heard Adrian was seen in the company of a Lestrange, of all? That thought alone was almost enough to make Adrian turn away from this offer.
The Auror he also was was protesting this, arguing this was a criminal who had served the Dark Lord willingly, perhaps even eagerly, who had been involved in torturing the Longbottoms and others with the Crucio until they lost their minds, who had quite possibly and most likely killed as well. Adrian in turn argued, that Lestrange at any rate, whether Adrian was at his side or not, would work actively and likely ruthlessly to reach his goals. Wouldn't it be better then, if Adrian was in a position where he could make sure... it didn't go too far.
Who are you kidding? You want to follow your ambitions. This is too big a chance to say no. And if the Minister could find it agreeable to strike a deal with Lestrange, so could Adrian.
"I expected no less." He said, even if he wasn't fully decided yet. "I will have to consider this ... offer more closely, Mr. Lestrange." And he would have to dig up more indepth information on the man so he knew who exactly he was dealing with, and exactly what means Lestrange had to reach his goals.
