Re: In Hogsmeade...
Adrian wasn't well-versed in politics at all. It wasn't his field of interest, never had been. Only the inner-department politics involved in moving him up in the ranks to where his ambitions were aiming to place him.
"I do see your point, to a degree. I still find it against anything I believe in personally to be forced instead of strongly encouraged. Should the Minister pass a law that demands marriage within a certain timeframe and heavily limits your choices, it's force and nothing else, good intentions or not. The goal does not always justify the means." Which sounded entirely non-Slytherin, he knew. But he just believed too strongly in personal freedom to let it be overruled by something like this. And while he could - to a degree - agree with some of Voldemort's goals, the means with which the Dark Lord had sought to realise those goals had been entirely unjustifiable.
Adrian wasn't intimidated by the sudden strength and steel in the man's attitude. It was obvious to him that Lestrange had been and still was a very powerful man, magically and financially, but growing up with a father of Damian Pucey's caliber, you got used to it and eventually learned not to be intimidated or fear it, even as you respected it.
"It might be difficult to assign an Auror to you full time. But an arrangement where you could contact the department on the occasions where you would you need such an ... escort, should be possible." And Adrian had a strong suspicion that task might fall on him. He had the necessary skills after all, he was expendable since he was still not fully qualified, and would likely also be the only one who'd accept it without whinging about it.
