Dora waits for Remus at her Mothers. *complete*
Who: Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin. (Also Teddy and Andromeda)
Where: Nymphadora's Mother's house.
When: Wednesday, February 13th, 1999.
Rating: ?
Other information: This is back dated I'm afraid, hope that's ok.
Dora sat on the sofa at the end of the kitchen, holding Teddy, and stared into the flames of the kitchen fire as she listened to her Mother talk.
Talk about the gossip she was hearing about Remus.
Talk about how Teddy was missing his Daddy.
Talk about how she needed to 'connect with her pain'.
Dora was watching one large log as it burned. It was glowing orange in places and sparks leapt as it crumbled down into the flames. Dora looked up from the fire and into her Mother's concerned face.
"I love you, you know, but I don't want to think about all that right now," Dora said quietly.
"This is what I'm talking about Nymphadora, you need to think about . . ."
"Mother!" she hissed, "how clear do I have to make this? I do not want to talk about this any more."
"I can't believe how you've changed. That man has dragged you down to . . ."
"Don't you dare!" Dora said forcefully. "Don't you dare insult Remus."
Dora and her Mother stared at each other for a moment, while the silence screamed in their ears. Finally her Mother turned and picked up a book, only muttering 'fine' under her breath. Dora returned staring into the fire. She wasn't going to break down today or any day.
Enough.
Enough moping, crying, thinking, dreaming - she was going to be fine. Teddy needed her, her job needed her. No matter what her Mother said or what happened when Remus came round tonight she was going to be fine.
Just fine.
