The milkshake was soon accompanied by a burger and fries. Hell, it smelled like the real thing. She picked up one of the fries, and the texture felt right. A little rough, salt sticking to the surface and her fingers, and the familiar aroma of fried potatoes. All of it smelled wonderful. Certainly not the sort of food she typically got on a ship, but well, first time for everything. She wasn't looking to live on this every day but this . . . this was definitely nice. But as much as she wanted to trust it, she was having a hard time trusting it.
"Chips?" Shepard paused, and looked at the fries, "Ah, yeah. Traynor called them that." Traynor who had a ridiculously expensive toothbrush. She watched as he tasted it and she asked, "No Sangria flavor?" She was hesitant to try her own. It felt like a wild experiment. They needed to test the food for anything that might be poisonous or harmful.
She questioned, "Are you sure that's safe?" She sure wished she had her omni-tool. It wasn't perfect, but she had some scanners in there she could use. She had it installed after some asshole bartender on Omega drugged her drink.
