Waking up from cryo was a bit more difficult than waking up from the dead. That was saying something, but when Shepard woke up at the Cereberus facility where Project: Lazarus pretty much resurrected her, she had some aches and some pains, but was capable of putting on her own armor, which was currently unaccounted for, and fighting her way through a number of hacked droids. Things were much simpler then. That was before she knew what the Reapers were and what they were capable of, and what Cereberus would go on to do, despite her decision to destroy the Collector base. The nausea would wear off quickly enough, and after speaking with some of the other occupants of the ship via its communication system, it was straight to work. People from different times and places, and no word as to whether or not her decision to use the Crucible to destroy the Reapers (and all synthetic life) instead of controlling or sythesizing with them was the right one. It would've been nice to have a familiar face around. Liara, Garrus, Tali, Kaidan . . . anyone. Some of the people here already seemed to know each other, and then there were those that had never been on a spaceship, let alone ever been to space. Shepard decided she could find out what happened with the Reapers later, because for now she needed to keep her head on straight and focus on making sure they'd survive. They needed to find a source of food and water, and if there was a med-bay, there was likely some food stores somewhere on here. Then they had to look at the skills everyone. Establish some sense of security, then start getting answers to questions. She made her way to the med-bay, where Barton said he was already situated, and she glanced around for him as she walked in. Shepard wanted to make sure she knew the faces of the people she currently saw as fellow crew. That Romanoff person seemed to have a good head on her shoulders as well, reminding Shepard that people needed to be taken care of. Shepard had been so caught up in trying to figure out what happened to Earth she'd nearly forgotten what mattered the most at that point. Without her armor, she had on her blue Alliance uniform, the sleeves rolled to her elbows. Her hair was still pulled into a ponytail and she didn't look any worse for the wear. In fact, no one would have ever thought she'd been dying before she blacked out. She knew she'd taken a breath for a moment, knowing she survived (somehow), but waking up in cryo . . . She leaned against a counter in the med-bay, arms folded. |
