Looks like suddenly the population doubled. It seems a lot more than normal!

[She looks a bit daunted. Not that she's been here all that long to make an accurate guess, but in comparison to the few other times new arrivals have appeared, while they all seem to pale in comparison. For a moment she looks vaguely troubled.]

I was wondering...this morning during the morning announcements, Acumen suddenly just vanished mid-sentence. Is that typical...? It just seems strange...

[... Anyway, it's about time she get down to business and make herself useful. She gives a shake of her head.]

Regardless, since there are so many new faces, I decided I should try and do what I can! If it comes to explaining the mechanics about this place I'm... [Admittedly] probably not a very good resource, but if there's anyone who needs help at all, please let me know! I can at least explain about housing. Or any of the bare essentials that someone might have questions on.

[Her eyes widen suddenly, as though just remembering something.]

Oh! That's right! I nearly forgot, in all of the excitement. [Lifting a pan into the view of the screen, she smiles sheepishly behind it.]

I made riceballs! It's not much, but I figured with all of the commotion, maybe everyone could use a little pick-me-up, you know? There's plenty, with all kinds of different flavors, so don't hesitate to stop by. I even made a little stand outside, over in sector five. [Too much time on her hands, maybe. But she wants to try and help make a difference if it's possible.

[Yuki woke up about 25% of the way outside...in the park. He was mostly irked because it was hot, but didn't wake up completely. So he's now sleepily wandering in the direction of his house... He bumps into things along the way and eventually activates his communicator. The picture is of a scrawny, sleepy teenage boy who does not look at all happy. Or sad really. Just blank. He also groggily mutters things occasionally.

Well, he finally bumps into a wall, the wall is cool on his forehead so he stays there. Inevitably his eyes close and his breathing steadies. He falls asleep against that wall.]

[Well! Feel free to bother him. Be careful about being violent with him though~ ♥ Also, if you knew him before, he's been gone for about a couple days now! He's back!]

[The video switches on to show a grumpy and disdainful looking cat yawning as he stretches out, taking his time. He looks annoyed by the restraint, tail swishing back and forth abruptly. The bell on his strange collar chimes and it's a strangely resonating sound.]

Well, isn't this unexpected. If this is a prison, not only is the timing terrible but I would have thought that my collar would have been removed if I'm going to be restrained. I don't suppose anyone could oblige?

[He tucks his tail in close, looking bored now if not a bit irritated.]

But as long as I'm going to be stuck here, I don't suppose there is any decent fish to be had besides those swimming above out of reach?

So rain, was it...

[Her voice trailing off. Not exactly sounding too impressed by that fact as she swirls a spoon playfully around in a large cup of milk before letting it go, only to watch the utensil continue to circle until it all but stops. At that point, she removes it with a twirl.]

... in a facility that is beneath the surface of the ocean.

[Yellow eyes flicker toward the communicator. She lets that hang there for a moment as she takes a sip of her drink.]

And no one finds this out of the ordinary. While the lack of shackle is much appreciated, I think I'd prefer open skies to leaky domes...

[Ending his day with his usual martial arts training at the dojo and a several mile run, Kyou finally burned off some of the built up tension he'd developed earlier in the day. Frustration at Momiji was worsened by having to do something he wasn't really comfortable doing at the ice skating rink. The training tonight had helped ground him, relaxing him in a way that very few things were capable of doing. Exhausted after his cooldown, he dropped down onto a bench in the park in sector 4 to just clear his mind and enjoy the nature there.

It started with one, approaching from beneath the bench to brush up against his ankles. Used to this sort of thing, he ignored it for a few minutes until a second one jumped up onto the bench next to him--determined to crawl onto his lap and get his attention. He allowed it, even going as far as to give it a scratch or two on the head before the third one showed up.

Now...he was just starting to get agitated again. Pushing the one cat off his lap, he switched his communicator to video so everyone could get a good look at his visitors.]

[ooc: Anyone can claim them if they have a cat. Or just come marvel make fun of Kyou.]

[ An day spent at the ice skating rink was just the thing Jennifer needed! Sure, she had the party to go to later in the afternoon, but right now, her time was designated to her dear friend Momiji and his cousins. Hopefully they remembered their play date, but either way, she wasn't going let this opportunity go to waste! She'll just start off slow with a leisurely stroll around the rink. Nothing much, just a little! ]

(( ooc: mingle post! Momiji, Tohru, and Kyou are expected, but just about anyone can stop by and say hello while she takes a breather or take Jennifer out for a spin around the rink. It's pretty much an equal opportunity threadjack moment here. Have fun! ))

[So after having spent much of the day so far speaking with newcomers and figuring out that he's probably one of those famed glitches, Kid is on his way to (what used to be) his room to try and shake off the nausea he'd been feeling all day. Unfortunately, the room he enters is far less than the perfect room he remembers organizing the first time around.]

What the hell is going on here?! How dare someone come into my room and mess up the symmetry I worked so hard to perfect! Who would commit such a heinous act?!

This is completely unacceptable!

[Remember this guy, Marina? Well, even if you don’t he’s reintroducing himself in much the same way he did originally – getting angry about the lack of symmetry. He doesn't even care that it was probably the bots that did it.]

Whoever had the nerve to do such a thing will pay!!

[And that’s all before he turns his attention away from the feed and concentrating on fixing his room.]

If you're in anyway involved with this, Kisuke...  [The video starts showing a dark skinned woman dressed in a black spandex outfit who is clearly not looking too impressed. No, on her face is a look usually reserved for Kisuke when he's done something stupid. But who can blame her? Arms crossed over her chest, her eyes narrow with a predatory gleam.]

Feh. So Acumen, is it? If anyone, Warden or otherwise, is expecting a thank you for the gift...

[Letting that linger, before slightly raising her right stockinged foot. Of course, she can't exactly raise it too high, given that there's a shackle attached to an iron ball keeping it down, and seeing as she appears to have absolutely no abilities at all... Still, she gives it a little jingle before that leg lowers again.]

So what's this? A joke, right. Pretty poor taste, if you ask me. And a criminal? I suppose I've been called worse but this is one of the crappiest prisons I've seen.

[Gaze shifting back, there is still some jingling as she's wiggling her toes, not liking this hindrance at all.] So. I'd usually sleuth out answers myself, but I appear to be a bit limited at the moment. Am I supposed to by that whole little speech given to me when I awoke in this oh so wonderful place? Minus the ocean part, of course~ That I can see for myself.

[he's been sitting in the library, orienting himself; he thinks he's gotten a good grasp on the situation and that it's safe to use his communicator to chat. Charles is meandering through the library as best he can with his restraint on, observing the stacks]

From the Ivy League to the CIA to the big house. [a little laugh] It's quite an unexpected leap. I have to say this reading selection is a trifle lacking, but I suppose that's to be expected... Other than the material in my welcome basket, of course! That was quite appreciated. I love the sunglasses, they're a nice touch.

[--he is more than a little disoriented with his telepathy sealed off like this; things he could normally have picked up in seconds are mystifying him. but even though the welcome pamphlet talked about "powers", he's not comfortable just casually talking about that in public. he mulls over how to put this into words, and finally asks cheerfully]

So, come and tell me. Who else is, or was, excited by all this far-out technology? I can't be the only one who was astonished to see half a dozen computers in this library, each of them small enough to fit in my arms! And these communicators, they're amazing, just -- really amazing.

[ Around noon, the robots that had been swarming the beach scatter, leaving a transformed landscape in their wakes. There are volleyball nets set up in the sand, along with colorful umbrellas and blankets beneath them. Part of the water has been sectioned off for water polo, while inflatable rafts in fanciful shapes are ready for use in the open area.

Ringing the beach are food stands serving street and festival foods: chin chin, takoyaki and taiyaki, aloo tikki, sabikh, empanada, hot dogs, ice cream and shaved ice, and suchlike. There is one stand where a robot serves an alcoholic punch not completely unlike sangria. Several of the other stands also serve non-alcoholic drinks. Clean up robots zoom from place to place, picking up garbage. ]

Thanks, I guess, to everyone who helped me out when I first got here. This isn't really what I pictured prison to be like.

[And with that out of the way - ]

Does anyone know anything useful about trap-making? --Hypothetically, of course.

[He's the guy man with the plan.]

[Sitting at a free table within the arcade, there's a long haired girl in a large hat, shifting a couple cards on the table, all of them face down, though the backs are unrecognizable. Her expression is a little down, small shoulders slumped as she gives a disheartened sigh.

When she looks up she smiles though, eyes fixing on the video feed. At the very least her words and expression are sincere.]

It's starting to get a little bit late, but there aren't any set curfews in here. Is there anyone who would like to play a game with me? Anyone can play!

[Her grin becomes a bit enthusiastic.]

I promise! It's sure to make you feel great!

[ If you pay attention to the network, you'll see there's an adorable little kid smiling at you! |3 ] Hello Marina inmates-- how are you today?

I was thinking it would be fun to check out the new skating place, but rather than go alone, I thought it would be much more fun if I invited someone to go with me. So! Does anyone want to go skating with me?

Oh! We could also go to the Ramen place after skating! And then we could go to the ice-cream place and... [ramble ramble~]

[ for the last few hours, Riku's been a good boy and followed all directions, while restrained. after a bunch of gardening, he's dirty, but he sees no bad thing about it. he's dirty, but he's alive, he's well, and he doesn't see anything inherently wrong with this system besides the fact that he's a minor and he's in a prison. he's not being mistreated. as the camera loads and sharpens onto his face, there's a faraway look in his eye as he tries to assimilate all the information he's gathered. ]

Hey. [ he finally looks down, hair falling in his seagreen eyes. ] I'm new here, I guess being social's part of the charm of this place.

[ a bit of quiet as he looks off, but he starts again. ] I was wondering who's here, and how long.

[ finally, a sigh. ] Got what I wanted.

[Hello, Marina. Here's a familiar face! Only...not so much. This time around, GIR appears on the screen with red eyes and he seems to be a little more than peeved about being here.

There's a moment of silence before one eyes twitches and he attempts to hack into his communicator, wires popping out of his head to pick at it and try to broadcast to as many other communicators as he can. Of course that's not necessary, but he's doing it anyway.]

WE MEET AGAIN, ACUMEN. Your accusations are stupid! Your facility is STUPID!

[If you're a little ways away from the library, you should be able to see GIR seething as he starts to approach it. But be careful if you choose to approach him]

[ Greed’s bar seems to have been awarded its first bum, if looks can be anything to go by. The man drifts by the entrance, casually looking it up and down, his hands stuffed deep inside of his hoodie. His head is covered by a knit beanie, the only evidence of his face just a tuft of stubble. ]

[ A voice breaks through the Marina main broadcasting feed, casual even if his lips are hinting at a smirk ]

So what time does Happy Hour begin on induction day? I feel like there’s a missed opportunity for the proprietor here.

[ There's two reasons for being her: One, he needs a stiff drink, and besides this bar there is another club where there's something wholly unhuman serving the liquor. Two, a bar is a decent social scene. Perhaps he can get some answers as to what is going on and, this early, it's less likely that people are drunk quite yet. Maybe. God, is this place for real? He's been in some very strange situations before, but this definitely takes the cake. If he was ready to be thrown into prison before, this has shaken his views a little. ]

And yeah, that was an invitation for anyone else wanting to get an early start. Or for anyone wanting to come actually tend the bar. Much appreciated.

(( OOC: If your character recognizes Nick, please refrain from telling him Maya is still here. Edgeworth is ok because I don't think he'd be so discouraged from drinking if he found his former rival was out there. He got up a little later than Maya's broadcast - maybe you did as well? PS, he could be at the club if you'd rather be there. ))

That lantern show last night...

[There's a long, considering pause here, as though he's looking for the words to describe the depth of his feelings...]

... You know, I had to watch a turdweasel run about a place where fireflies were trapped under a blanket of tumultuous cloud, winking their asses on and off like some kind of desperate, obscene insect bucket show. I had fucking flashbacks to there. That's what that reminded me of.

[Now there's the sound of his feet stamping along the ground.]

Speaking of bucket shows... Wow. Why the fuck does a computer care who pukes what into whatever receptables a fucking drone comes waddling up to their door with? It's not like it couldn't just incenerate the genetic fluid if it didn't want breeding.

Of course, maybe it's just been a stalwart bustfuck about it so that prisoners can spend more time bitching about bodily autonomy than actually... oh, I don't know, looking for a way out. Kind of a good trick, actually. Simple, but motherfucking effective nonethefuckingless.

[There is a teenaged boy carrying the few belongings he owns just outside of sector 0. Luckily he hasn't been here more than a few days, so he doesn't have much to carry, mostly just clothes that he was having trouble keeping a hold of them all. It is obvious he's moving though.

Not that he really wants to.

Moving in with his cousins is something he's been fighting since the day he got here.]

This is so stupid.

[Muttering beneath his breath, if any of them made a comment about his actions today he would punch them in the face. Hard. Especially that damned Yuki. Especially since he'd just spent the last two days fighting with Momiji about NOT moving in with them.

The only reason he was doing it now was so Tohru didn't have to feel like she had to choose between them.

It had nothing to do with the fact that he knew she'd choose to stay with them and not him.

NOTHING to do with something like that.]

Oh mom...

[The screen jostles, tilting up as a small thump is heard. Kneeling on the ground, long brown hair sweeps the pavement below as a young girl falls to her knees in defeat.]

I... I realize that setting up camp on private property is wrong, but I never imagined how serious the offense! [Dark eyes swirling she reels dizzily, head spinning] I don't even remember there being any pressed charges. I'm the worst. Such an idiot! The lowest of low. To think that the Sohma allowed such a hardened criminal into their home.

I'd punish me too.

[Kyou is trying to access the map on the communicator, since he has no idea where he is in comparison to the his home in the shelter. He's not really good with this device to begin with, plus...it's still raining which is leaving him still overly exhausted and sort of punch-drunk. Even a tired cat can't sleep for 24 hours straight. This does not mean he's functioning very well at being awake. So instead of the map--he activates the video.]

Oh come on. Map. I wanted the map.

[His voice is tired and not very loud for once.]

I just want to go home and sleep in my own bed, damn it!
