[ Event: Summer Solstice Festival ]
29 June 2011 at 12:23 pm
[ Around noon, the robots that had been swarming the beach scatter, leaving a transformed landscape in their wakes. There are volleyball nets set up in the sand, along with colorful umbrellas and blankets beneath them. Part of the water has been sectioned off for water polo, while inflatable rafts in fanciful shapes are ready for use in the open area.

Ringing the beach are food stands serving street and festival foods: chin chin, takoyaki and taiyaki, aloo tikki, sabikh, empanada, hot dogs, ice cream and shaved ice, and suchlike. There is one stand where a robot serves an alcoholic punch not completely unlike sangria. Several of the other stands also serve non-alcoholic drinks. Clean up robots zoom from place to place, picking up garbage. ]

[Locked to Nakama]

Could you possibly spare a moment? I'd like to have a word with you.

[Locked to Akihiko and Ryoji]

I've had it confirmed that Arisato is not just simply missing in action, but rather, she's completely disappeared from the premises. She, as well as the Arisato we knew and Takeba have all be "lost" as of now, so to speak.

We need to remain on our guard at all times.

[Once she's taken care of getting in touch with those she needed to contact, Mitsuru sits outside on the library's steps. She's rather directionless, holding the book open, but her eyes are only skimming the same few lines over and over. She's got a lot on her mind now - probably the most she's had since arriving, and this isn't counting her unfinished business in Iwatodai, either.]

[She won't mind being approached for one reason or another, clearly not focused on her reading material at all. Despite her composed attitude when communicating over the network, she's actually a bit distraught.]

[It's in the morning when Ryoji's memories widen, the inrushing causing his hands to go numb and his posture to crumple.]

--ten years ago... [his voice caught between shock and crippling despair, words taut with it.]

voice; filtered to Mitsuru. )

((OOC: Ryoji's been canon updated to December 2nd, thus making him post-reveal for those who are familiar with Persona 3.))

[Orihime is in the playground in Sector 4, idling on a swing in a kimono top and leggings, rocking back and forth a little and spinning in a slow circle. Edward is chilling on the swing next to her.]

[She's supposed to meet Sasha here so they can do some baking together back at her house, but she rather likes this place. The empty playground sort of suits her mood at the moment.]

[Still, her voice is unfailingly energetic when she asks,]

What kind of ice cream would everyone want to be in a real ice cream parlor? I know we can get ice cream in containers at the store and everything, but we need a 31 Flavors or something so you can actually go and get all sorts of ice cream treats and where the ice cream is made fresh every day~

So what kind of ice cream would you want? And what other treats? I'll get a list together and then I'll ask Acumen for it so he can see how many people want ice cream!

[Ava is at the ramen stand, and she's got to say it's not as bad as she thought. College students have a skewed perspective on what real ramen tastes like, she guesses.

But it's still not enough.]

I could go for a greasy double bacon cheeseburger with a side of salty fries. Why is it there's a pizza place and a noodlebar, but no burger joints?

I say we lodge a formal complaint.

[Aerith is in the arcade. Her basket of flowers has been set aside - for the time being - and she seems to be focused on one of the games.]

Stop moving~! [She pouts and a high-pitched beep resounds from the machine.] That's not fair. [Sighing, the flower-girl meanders over to an empty booth. Plopping down on the cushion, she smiles at her recorder.]

Is anyone good at games? I never got to play them much, but I think I'm getting better. [Her green eyes sparkle mischievously.] Maybe we can have tournaments~!

I'm really underwater... [ you haven't missed much in Yukiko's world. She's just been repeating this over and over again to herself, in the desperate hope that this will start making sense. Never mind that she's still wandering around Sector 4 like a lost child until she finally decides to give this... communication thing an official try. Give her a minute to sit down. ]

Am I... a criminal now? I don't remember doing anything wrong... a-and I did apologize for-- [ PAUSE. Clearing her throat like a very refined young lady. ] Er, this isn't... really lifelong, is it? I think I would have heard something if Japan suddenly started sentencing people to an underwater prison.

[ another pause-- and then, slightly hopefully, because if Yukiko is a criminal, then surely the one delivering critical hits to the nads is... ]

Chie? Are you here?

[ you can find her catching her breath in one of the parks in Sector 4, just perched on a bench and still oh so very baffled. ]

[well, she's put this off for long enough - it's already been a whole day since she's avoided contacting Akihiko - and there's no point in doing so any further than that. And so.]

Akihiko-senpai. You may not know who I am, but I'd like to speak with you. Can I meet you somewhere, say... in the park?

[Here, Marina. Have a Mitsuru in your face. She's looking very composed, seriously, and pointedly clean of any colors. She draws in a small breath before speaking.]

Now that the day's celebration has come to a close, I was hoping someone could spare a few minutes to answer a question of mine.

It's to my knowledge there's an organization here called the "Defense Force." Given the circumstances, I've had little time to properly question this group and its activities; I can assume the name explains itself well, but I'd like to know more about it, in any case.

Merci beaucoup.

[With a nod, she cuts the feed. Once she's done with this, Mitsuru sits straight, one leg crossed over the other as she waits for the others to arrive. Her eyes kept focused, mentally going over all of the things that needed to be discussed once Akihiko, Ryoji and Yukari got there.]

[Rubbing her nose, eyes watery, the camera flickers on to reveal Kobato, looking confused. Or rather, more confused than usual. From what is visible beneath her hands, her nose and forehead looks a little red, and she a little dazed as she stands before what appears to be an empty doorway.]

I- I think there must be something wrong. I know sometimes I run into things. But... I never expected to run into air!

[Unsteady, she teeters a little on her feet.]

Uh… is this thing on? [There’s a pause; Akihiko has taken the device off to examine it. He’s not exactly sure how it works. After a few moments, the voice feed comes back on.] I suppose so…

Guess we’ve gotten ourselves into a bit of a bind… my name’s Akihiko Sanada. If there’s anyone who can respond out there, I have a few questions for you. [There’s a small pause, and then he starts mumbling to himself.] I read all the stuff, but really - jail? If Mitsuru found out, she’d never let me hear the end of it…

I think I’ve got the basics sorted, but if there’s any additional info that would help, I’d appreciate it. Also, if there’s anyone from Iwatodai here - I’d appreciate hearing from you. [With that, he figures that he’s about done here, and turns the communicator off.]
