["Think about all the things over the last year for which you are most grateful"... That message had made her chest tighten. Sure, there were things she was grateful for, but she was pretty far away from a lot of those things at the moment. That was why she had decided to just sneak past all the festivities to grab a black notebook from her apartment and head off to the Butterfly Pavilion. She didn't really have a reason for going there, but it seemed as good a place as any, especially after sitting herself down in one of the corners of the park. If she could avoid unexpected company, all the better.

With a light sigh she cracked open the notebook and started making notes with her slightly large and looping handwriting. Every now and again she stopped to press the top of her pen against her lip and narrow her eyes as if she was figuring out a tough math problem, but before too long she would just get right back to writing as if nothing had happened. She had her limits though, and her eyelids were starting to get heavier and heavier in order to remind her of that.

...Maybe she could just rest her eyes for a moment. Just one. That wouldn't cause any problems, right?

And before she knew it she was fast asleep.]

Good morning, everyone! Today is the 162nd day of the third generation, and it is still chilly, but will remain clear. I have a very important question for you all to think about today...

[Sentience pauses. The robot appears to be in the butterfly pavilion this morning, but you won't find it there, and in fact the pavilion is strangely calm; all the butterflies are perfectly still, as if sleeping.]

I know that Acumen has asked this once before, but I ask you again, sincerely. ...I want you to think about the importance of freedom, compared to the importance of safety. Would you rather that I give you the freedom to do what you wished, or would you rather that I protected you from each other, even if that means that I may have to deny you things you want, or interfere in your lives in ways you may not want?

[...after a beat] Think about it, and let me know your thoughts in the next few days.

Either way, today I have removed the debris from the former site of the Devil's Compass. As per request, I will be beginning efforts to rebuild it. Any inmate who is interested in helping in the reconstruction is welcome to do so!

And finally, Sasha, your requests have been installed in the handicraft room at the education center; and Snowman and PM, your requests are available at the shelter. You can ask any robot there, and they will retrieve it for you.

Yomi Isayama
[Yomi’s been up for a little while now, pushing back breakfast for the sake of making it to the athletic centre at first light. She’s all smiles for the feed, hands tucked behind her back, but it’s obvious from the faint flush high up on her cheeks that she’s already loosened her muscles – and, okay, maybe the especially observant can spot the dummy she beat a little too hard.

Accidents happen, but now she’s bored with single combat and practicing her forms.
]

So who’s up for a quick spar? [Just that, still all smiles and warm voiced, as innocent and unassuming as possible, with the pan of the feed making it obvious where she is.]
Location: Sector 6 / Athletic Complex

[Inara has a small tea table set up in one of the gardens. There's cream, sugar cubes and a small plate of sliced lemons. All the pieces of the tea set match, naturally. There's also a small plate of tea cakes. Inara is dressed flawlessly in an apricot colored satin gown. She's got a royal blue shawl with intricate embroidering thrown across her shoulders and her hair is loose. She looks very controlled: her movements, emotions and facial expressions. She is dealing better with Mal's departure today, but she's far from all right with it. She had been prepared to spend whatever was left of her life arguing with him and now he's disappeared, gone back on their unspoken agreement.

In any case, she likes Spencer and this tea will be a welcome distraction. It's the best remedy at the moment for a heart that's not quite broken, but terribly bruised.]
