--ow!

[Roxas colliding with the ground turned on his communicator, so have a view of the grass outside the house where he's been living. Roxas is barely visible in the video field and appears to be having some difficulty getting back to his feet. His face is turning a little red with frustration.]

I can't bel-- Ugh, why-- This is so stupid--

[He finally manages to get to his knees, and then catches sight of the communicator. He moves very slowly and deliberately to pick it up, glowering something fierce.]

What the hell is going on all of a sudden?!

[The world was very dark this morning, when Mami woke up. In fact, it was like someone had tied a cloth over her eyes, as she couldn't see ANYTHING.

Her first instinct was to try and remove the cloth in question. This was a reasonable reaction and would have worked except for one small detail - there was no blindfold to remove.

She managed to fumble her way out of her little living place -- and that was it. She didn't know how to get to the farm from here. Oh, she knew where it was, vaguely, but not being able to see kind of put a damper on the whole thing.

So, with great annoyance, she manages to get the communicator going, and says:]

What th' heck happened? Ah can't farm like this!

Um... I hope it's just like... really quiet in here...

[Being blind is very undesired. Rayflo is used to have exceptional senses and more. Temporary or not, being blind sucks. So have a Rayflo who is sitting inside his house, relaxing on the couch--wearing sunglasses. Becauase he can.]

This is an experience I can say is the least enjoyable of everything since I've been here. But maybe that's just my opinion. We all have our dislikes.

So my fellow inmates, which of the little mishaps we've experienced since arriving would you say ranks the highest for you? Or should I say the "lowest"? [little shrug] Did one of them cause you more trouble than the others? I know several of you were here when the prison shut down for days, that must have been difficult. But I think many of us weren't.

[a little pause and then a smirk]

And Cherry, Daddy's going to make something real nice for dinner tonight. It will leave your mouth watering. [Just so you know you can't run, Cherry. Blind or not he'll find you.]

[Anew's arms are straight out in front of her as she roams the corridors of... somewhere. All she knew was that she woke up blind, Lyle was gone, she couldn't find her communicator, and all Frederick would say was "emergency!" The whole thing made her panic-stricken enough to set out on a blind wild goose chase, looking everywhere for Lyle.]

[It took a bit for her to find a building, what she was hoping might be the hospital. When her outstretched hand finally feels a doorknob, Anew wastes no time flinging it open. Maybe someone in here would help her.]

[Unfortunately, the room is silent. A few steps in, she hits her leg hard on a... table? Hm. She continues her search, only to have her hand brush against a vertically-oriented rectangular object, smooth plastic with one strange side. A... television screen? No, a computer monitor!]

[Wait. Where was she?]

((OOC: Anew is in the computer lab, in a striking instance of bad luck. I'm REALLY hoping someone from the DF can find her here and suspect her of hacking the system with her twin and the other Innovades. They look enough alike that it's not a big stretch :D Otherwise, help please? <3 ))

[ When the video feed begins, there is some loud music playing in the background. Something pop-y, which ceases when Jeanne sits down at her desk. How else is a mute woman supposed to get people's attention?

Despite the odd events of the day, she looks upbeat, and is holding a notepad in her hands. She turns it to the screen, so everyone can see what is written on it in permanent marker. ]

Hello! It looks like I don't have a voice today. Literally!

[ She looks as if she's laughs at that, but absolutely nothing is heard. Jeanne leaves it up for a few seconds, before flipping the page back to a new one with more writing on it. She does this a few times. ]

For those who need help, I can give some phrases in --
sign language. Just to get through today. For anyone --
who is curious, I hold a regular class on days ending --
in 3, 6, and 9. Please don't by shy and come by sometime!

[ There's a pause while she holds the corner of the page, hesitating on flipping to the next pages. Her expression falls, and she takes a deep breath. ]

If anyone else is looking for me, I'm going to be at the --
hospital the WHOLE day. Thank you. Be safe, everyone.

[ With that, she ends the feed and leaves her apartment, setting out with a bag of spare supplies to camp out at the hospital. Saya has to come for a transfusion sometime... right? ]

Never a dull moment around here, huh?

Well, it looks like I've lost my mind as well as my sense of taste, because my class is not canceled. But today is optional, so don't sweat it if you don't feel up to coming.

I'm also extremely reluctant to encourage attendance from those of you without eyesight, but if you're really aching to come to class, I can find some safe activities for you. Just... don't try to get here by yourself. Use the buddy system, preferably with someone who can see.

[He's expecting light attendance today, but it's something to do and it gives Eridan a way to amuse himself for an hour. For those who show up, Cain will walk his students through a variety of warm-ups and some basic moves. For the very beginners, he'll give them some exercises against dummies and stationery targets to get used to handling a sword and offer them advice as they go. More advanced students can either spar with each other or Cain near the end of class, or work on their form as desired.]

[He did have a short lecture planned, but it will wait until everyone has their hearing.]
