[video | closed | backdated to early evening]
[Just like yesterday, Tamaki can be found sitting at the piano in the music room of the Education Center but unlike yesterday, he's not making this a public show. He plays a few random notes before making a call to Judith to tell him he's ready to play for her.]

[filtered to Judith]

Princess, if you are ready to listen I am prepared to play for you again. [He pauses for a moment, realizing something.] And should you prefer to have a live show it would be my honor to walk you here! [wink!]

[End filter]

-------

[Once that's over with Tamaki stays at the piano for a little while, just playing around with the piano a little more. He has no where to be and he really does enjoy playing so what's the hurry to go back to his room just because he's done playing for Judith?]

Yes, yes. [A little sigh.] It'll be a way to fill my time, anyway.

[He goes back to playing his rather simple version of Ode to Joy, just to keep his fingers busy.] Kohran's teaching me to read music. Is it hard?

I learned to read it when I was a small child so I think that made it a little harder for me - I had a very short attention span. It was probably even harder for my mother to teach me.

[Of course his attention span is probably even shorter now.]

Mmm. Well, I'll try it, anyway. [Finishing up Ode to Joy, which leaves the room in silence for a moment.]

What is it like, performing in front of people? I've only ever had an audience of one.

... two, if you count the kitten.

It's really nice. A lot of people seem to like it when I play for them and seeing other people happy makes me happy.

[Tamaki doesn't let the silence linger for very long. He starts playing with the keys a bit once the song ends, though he doesn't play an actual song.]

You're easy to please, aren't you? [Lightly teasing, but not quite mocking.]

I suppose I am. I just like seeing people smile.

[A bemused frown. He really never will understand Tamaki.]

Right, you've got that - 'Host Club' to make women happy. Is it still running?

Ah-- it is still running, though it's a bit slower than it usually would have been. [Because Kyouya isn't here to help him run it.:(]

How come? [Sensitivity? None here.] You seemed rather passionate about it.

Ah, it seems that running the club is much harder than I had expected it to be without my friends to help me. [Turning his attention more to the piano now. He doesn't really want to think about the absence of his friends.]

Oh, so you've had people leave as well. [His expression isn't as light as usual, but it's not quite to sad. Maybe just a bit annoyed.] All of the other Chosen have been here at one point or another, and now it's just me. It's irritating.

I've heard that the other Host Club members have all been here before as well, though I'm happy they aren't now. I sure they are much more content being at home than here.

[Finding it a bit harder to smile at the moment. He's not really happier with them being home while he's here alone.]

[A cool smirk.] Do you really mean that? Are you really that selfless?

[Just going to pretend that he didn't hear that question so he doesn't have to answer. He knows that he's selfish for not really feeling that way, does he really have to admit it?]

I didn't think so. [A quiet chuckle, darkly amused.] There's nothing wrong with being selfish, Tamaki. I don't see why Lilim think that looking out for your own interests is a flaw.

They all have such important things to do at home... It wouldn't be right for me to wish they were here for my own purposes.

Your kind are far too obsessed with 'right' and 'wrong.' They're totally arbitrary rules that you made up for yourselves, which most other races don't share. If you want your friends here, then you want them here. It's not like you can wish them here with the power of your thoughts, so it's not like those thoughts can do any damage.

[Tamaki can't bring himself to answer any of these things. He doesn't like it when his selfishness causes his friends any sort of grief and if they do end up coming here... Well, he'd rather not admit that he wanted something that he knows they would all hate.]

[He's not getting as weird as he did the first time, but the reek of depression about him is putting Kaworu off. He stands up, glancing back over his shoulder at Tamaki.]

Is that the end of the lesson?
