Relocation; grandpa!
[Ai is also dressed, fortunately, when suddenly there's a strange presence in her room. Her back is turned to the rest of her room and a small watering can rests in her hand as she had been watering the plant her mother had given to her.
Even without turning around she can sense the Kuran standing in her room and it is most definitely not her mother. This one is new and unfamiliar, which isn't all that surprising considering how many Kurans are left in the world.
With the smallest movement she sets the can down on the windowsill next to the flower and glances over her shoulder. There's a bit of momentary relief when she sees it isn't her father (or perhaps even her great-uncle) but all the same it is someone she recognizes only from her mother's memories.
He's not nearly as tall as Ai has seen in those memories but she supposes that comes from the fact that her mother had been only a small child when she last saw this man. Now she was seeing him from a different view - and with her own eyes.
Really, it should be no more surprising to arrive and find a younger version of her mother and papa here. Ones that didn't even know who she was. It was always bad enough that her father wouldn't know her when he did finally wake up. To not have any of her parents recognize her was terrible.
But now she's faced with one more family member who's never gotten to meet her. One she never thought she would be face-to-face with. So forgive her if Ai's a little frozen in place.]
