Laura Kinney | Marvel Comics: Universe 616 | xtricate
Position applied for: Patrol/Emergency Response.
If you are seeking a combat role in patrolling and emergency response, do you have a sector preference? Sector 5
Is your character psychologically fit? Please elaborate: Laura is not easily stress in crucial situations. One the contrary, in majority of cases her focus tightens to the point completing the mission and removing the threat (whatever that may be) becomes her sole goal. If civilians are in danger, she's more than likely to put herself in harm's way to protect them, since her healing ability allows for her to recover from most physical trauma including having limbs cut off, but overall completing the mission comes first. She will defer to the people of authority on the Force, following orders as they are given to the best of her understanding and ability. Her social awkwardness and trouble with communicating effectively along with her single-mindedness when it comes to missions can be a problem when working on a team, but it is something she is aware of and attempting to adjust. Failure on the otherhand is considered so unacceptable that she takes blows like that rather hard and that can lead to more distress post-op than during. When she's emotionally distress and has no outlet, she takes to harming herself--but again, her healing ability covers this up. She's very self-sacrificing and reckless with her own well being during a mission, since she knows she can heal from most wounds and does not consider herself as valuable as the people she may be protecting.
How much of this would the interview team be able to read?: Laura is bluntly honest and open about her position unless it is something she feels will negatively impact the opinion of someone who actually matters to her. The people whose opinions matter in that way are few (although Kitty is indeed one of them). She will not bring up her cutting since it's something that she knows people have already voiced disapproval of, but she has no intention of stopping. She doesn't necessarily have any outward signs or tells for that either, so it would not be likely that it is something to be picked up unless the person is very adept at noticing extremely subtle behaviors. She won't deny her skills, training, history, or anything else if asked about it, but is not usually the one to take the initiative in a conversation. She will, if asked, be very upfront about her potential liability should the trigger scent used to send her into a blind berserker rage ever come to the prison since she knows she can pose a danger to a lot of people because of it.
What skills/knowledge/powers/experience does your character possess which would be an asset to the position(s) they are applying for?Her abilities section. It should also be mentioned that Laura knows at least a dozen different languages (English, French, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, some Middle Eastern languages, to name a few) and has a penchant for picking them up easily, which could come in handy if communicators became disabled/unable to translate.
How competent is your character in his/her skill set?: Laura is one of the best in her former field: stealth assassination. Her methods may be messy, but rarely had she ever been caught while in the process of a mission. She's so competent that her skills put her as one of the best fighters among the X-men despite her age and what could be considered a size disadvantage (she's only five-foot-one and has a rather small frame).
Would you like to play out the interview?: I would not mind doing it, but it's not necessary if time constraints prevent it.
Would you like to play out the skills test?: Again I would not mind doing it if time constraints allowed it, but of the two, the interview I would rather play out.
