[ Two-hundred and ninety-six days

Aidan's lived his whole life here, it feels like. Love and loss and heartbreak and making friends and then losing them almost as fast. He grew up here. He learned how to play baseball here. He lost fingers to a raptor here and met his future children and found a woman who actually wants to go home with him and start a big family and give him everything he's ever wanted in his entire life and if that's not worth going to prison over, then what is?

It's weird, still. He's met a lot of people here he'll never see again. Yuuri and Euphie and Lacus and Suogo and Helix - someone he might meet again but kind of hopes he won't, just like he wants to go home but also dreads having to face the possibility of a world where Jethro is still a danger to be reckoned with.

At this point he's basically a powder keg of emotions and anxiety, idly bouncing his leg or getting up to restlessly walk around the Sector. Something needs to happen, soon. ]

[ One thing this place has made him realise is how weird life is. He has so many opportunities, so many choices, so many possible timelines to explore and only one life to do it with. Going with Mal seemed like such an easy choice and then Rebecca and future babies happened and now... ]

Y'know, as much as I'd love to... [ He nods back towards the tent he and Rebecca set up, currently occupied by a sullen ginger teenage boy and his older sister, who's very much pregnant. ]

Hard to pass that up.
