Hey. Good afternoon everyone.

I need two things.

Specifically where you'd find good chinese food around here. Recommendations for that sort of thing, because my cooking skills are not as developed as I thought they were. Or if I had any skills in cooking at all, having to survive off lizards and shews and t-rex eggs probably have dulled my taste buds a little too much.

The other thing is that I'd really like to get access to fabrication technology, but since none of it exists here I'd have to build it myself.

Which brings me to asking for help. Building tech like that is doable and will ultimately lead the way to constructing more high tech parts that we can use for basically anything.

I'm looking for a few people interested in engineering, experienced or not. I can probably teach you.

Third thing, sorry. I also need to know if anyone's built a forge here.

Oh and fourth thing. Is there a working theory on the motivations of the people behind this prison program?

That's about it. Get back to me if you're interested. Should keep us busy if nothing else.

[Have a small bemused Italian demigod.]

That's a lot of things. You might have luck finding Chinese food at Little Earth. It's in Sector 4. Can't really help you with the techie stuff, though.

[Accepts your demigod.]

A few things more than I thought. Little Earth implies multiple earth based foods? As opposed to alien. [Which is so odd to think about.]

No? Not even a little interest in learning?

Yeah. It's Earth food. Or, you know. [He waves a hand around, indicting all of their virtual world.]

Um... no. I'm not really... It's not my thing. I'm better at hitting things.

That's useful to know. [Its going to be a bit of an adventure. He really needs to leave cooking up to someone, or something else.]

I understand that. Everyone has their own specialization.

[Good thing there are a lot of restaurants and places to grab food then, huh?]

I guess. There some really smart people here, though. You'll probably find someone who can help you.

[He didn't see 'Little Earth' on the list of places yet, so he has basically demonstrated his astounding lack of cooking skills.]

You talk as if you're not smart.

I'm ... not. I'm not stupid. I know how to survive. It's just things with books and math and ... whatever else you learn in school.

I think you're selling yourself short.

Set your mind to something and try to do it, if you fail, ask for help. Besides, better that than being bored around here.

I don't know about that. Math looks pretty boring, if you ask me.

[Though, there was that future they all experienced, where he did seek help for all his lost schooling, and was actually pretty good at math. He'd lost his chance to ask Chekov for that help when the man disappeared shortly after.]

Try looking it at this. Math is the universal language, its the one thing that you can count on when nothing else makes sense.

With math, there are absolutes, answers.

You don't need to be a physicist to appreciate math either.

Little Earth is a pretty safe bet. They have a lot of places for take out, if you want to switch it up. Decent Indian, too.

That's nothing you have to be concerned about here. A few of the, uh... residents opened up places too, if you ever get tired of interacting with robots.

Lesson learned. The fakeberry upgrade is actually a little more intuitive than the visor tech, that should help.

I'm already tired of interacting with the robots, I'm far more interested in taking them apart and using the parts for something better.

I would be careful about that, if I were you. The Sentinels may be gone but from what I've gathered the maintenance bots have defence systems of their own. Most veterans stay clear of them.

I can help you with the tech. The rest isn't really my area, and "theories" will have to be defined a lot more loosely as "working suspicions".

And speaking of t-rexes, watching out in Sector 6. There's a pack of raptors that lives there.

Technically I asked it there was a forge for melting raw materials. We don't exactly have access to manufacturing here.

Hypothesis? [IE an alternative word for working suspicion.

He squints at the camera.]

Why raptors? Is sector six a nature preserve?

You asked that after asking for people interested in engineering. I'm responding to that part. The forge you could ask the Wardens for, but it's a toss up if they'll say yes.

No, hypothesis is still suggests evidence over "a hunch and-or gut feeling". [ He would have said that word otherwise, don't get sassy, Ray Palmer. ]

Hell if I know. I just know they are there and they run fast and have a lot of teeth.

[He is way more comfortable with hypothesis, why can't they have those? Having no answers just feels wrong.]

Good point, and I'll concede that.

I guess I'll just have to make a forge too. Shouldn't be terribly difficult. [Really, he's going to just build a forge at this point.]

Hm, I almost prefer Gertrude at that point. [Yes, he named the T-rex.]

And makes me wish they'd let me have my suit.

BTW, I'm Ray.

[ He's right there with you, Ray. It makes his stomach do odd twists that are quite uncomfortable. ]

I can't see the new Wardens putting up much of a fuss if you do, so by all means.

Does your suit do something special?

Ah, Jim - Jim Kirk. Nice to meet you, Ray.

[It's horrible isn't it? It's like why do they have to act like that? Rude is the only word that adequately describes it.

He is about to answer but that name distracts him, his mind going to a dead stop.

But he looks nothing like shatner! Okay Ray, just be polite as with Jack. Just remind yourself, next gen was better.]

Well, it, uh, shrinks.

[ He recognizes that reaction. Reid had it too, at first, but he doesn't say anything about it, just in case he was wrong. And then he would leave a really bad impression with Ray.

And excuse you, he's much better than that bald tea lover-! Who... doesn't exist yet in his time so it's a moot point. ]

Shrinks? You could just get it tailored, you know.

[And focusing on the science. Oh god this is the reboot Kirk isn't it? Those dramatic pauses are all but completely absent.]

No, like... [He makes a gesture of big to small with his hands.]

As in when I call the suit the 'ATOM' it's not just a name. I'm pretty sure I can examine the atomic world if I had enough power, and enough courage.

Not quite ready to see what a quark looks like up close.

[Which is such an insult to canon, man. But seriously, not a TOS man. He kinda did like the first reboot for the hot mess it was.

Why is he internally nerd raging? IT's KIRK! Part of him actually wants to mess with Kirk and pretend he's a member of star fleet as well. He could pull it off too.]

Somehow shrinking isn't the strangest thing you've heard? Never seen tribbles before, have you?
