[He frowns.] Are you talking about being seen as leader of the Defence Force, or as leader of the whole dome? Because yeah, I'd argue that she was seen as leader of the whole dome, in that her announcements in times of crises often went out to everyone, and the way she made sure to greet new arrivals and all. But I don't think she saw herself as our leader in general and really, she shouldn't have been, but when we don't actually have a leader and she was the most visible thing we had, then yeah, of course she was going to be considered leader.
[He shrugs.] Just as I never wanted to be leader but, DF or no, in a crisis I'll always step up to the job if there's no-one else and people need direction. Mainly because I've got more experience than most. And I'm aware that a lot of people probably see me as a leader figure simply because of that. [A brief, wry grin.] I guess that larger than life quality of mine lends itself to that too. If people have trouble standing up to me, it does come in useful when it comes to pulling rank!
[And Kitty had that too, to some extent. She was just a lot more self-effacing about it.]
