[He doesn't pick up as fast as one might expect. He went through the whole of yesterday answering his calls only to find no-one able to see or hear him and in the end he stopped expecting anyone to be able to see or hear him, even if he was right there in the room with them.
So it's half a minute before he bothers to fumble on the bedside table for his headset and accepts the call. He's not quite awake enough yet to work out that this is a new day and hopefully yesterday's affliction will have righted itself, so his greeting is decidedly weary and long-suffering.]
