Day 416 - Private Video to Jack and Ianto
[Martha wasn't sure where Jack's and Ianto's relationship was since her talks with them two days prior. And she wouldn't have bothered them, except the Doctor was gone. She'd been by his place to make sure, and checked the communication device. No Doctor. Her face and tone are carefully neutral when her image shows up.]

Just wanted to let you two know, The Doctor seems to be gone, again.

[It's hard news to hear, but he knows it's harder on her and Jack. He's not one of the Doctor's companions, and while he was glad to get to know him more here he's also used tonpeople vanishing.]

Martha, I'm sorry. Are you alright?

He never stays long. In fact, this is the longest any version of him has been around I think.

[Non-answer is a non-answer.]

Does it make it easier, having gotten to spend more time with him?

[She smiles ruefully.]

It's weird here. Every time I saw him back home, I was the one to leave. Here, I never know when he'll disappear.

That sounds a bit like him though, doesn't it? Even when he has control of the situation he never seems to stay in one place for long.

No. He's terrible at being tied down. Just wish I could go back too.

Aw, damn. I was just getting used to having him around!

[Deliberately light, but his disappointment comes through nonetheless.]

It was nice wasn't it. Longest he's been here, at least from my standpoint.

Yeah, mine too.

[He shrugs a shoulder.] Perhaps it's for the best, though. Letting him go before he got too antsy about being stuck in one place!

I think he was pretty antsy about home too though. Last I saw him back home, things seemed... weird. I just hop from here into a proverbial fire.

Well, yeah, but it's not like he'll have actually got to go home, isn't it? He'll just be lying someone where in a pod just like us, except with his consciousness somewhere else.

[Something he still doesn't like thinking about.]

But if he comes back, he might have moved forward. Have that new set of memories. I just don't think anything good is coming up for him.
