Day 411/7111. Closed video/action. OPEN Action
Video. Closed to Aidan.]

[Mal pushes his hair from his face as the video comes on. Dirt and blood streak his face as he looks into the camera. The urgency in his eyes betray the calmness his smile tries to show.]

Aidan! I'm on my way out'a sector 6. Any chance you could meet me in sector 0 with some bandages? And an antiseptic? No need to come get me. I can be there shortly.

Open Action. Later in the day.

Wounds washed and bandaged and Mal freshly showered, it was time to take to the dome. He'd stayed in sector 6 longer than usual, working to improve his shelter and set up better defenses. As such, he was thinner than typical, and his clothes were more or less a disaster. His first stop was the clothing shops. Once he had the few items he needed there, he made his way to one of the restaurants. Mal appreciated the relative freedom of sector 6. It almost made him feel like he wasn't a prisoner. But then again, it was nice to eat food that didn't involve any prep or cleanup.

Other bits of his day were spent in the shooting range, the stables, and otherwise walking around the dome.

Still with the swords. And powers, if my partner can keep up. [His powers had grown up with him; he was strong. It didn't seem fair to use them against anyone who couldn't answer in kind.

He shakes his head.]

No, I don't think so. Does that mean you lost?

You'd think that wouldn't you? But no. I ended up winnin' in the end. Couldn't let him keep Inara. Doc fixed me up just fine in the end. Learned my lesson too. Hoity toity types don't participate in brawls.

[He laughs. He doesn't know many hoity toity types. He'll take Mal's word for it.]

I could teach you, you know? It probably won't matter much here, but it's a useful skill. You don't run out of bullets with a sword.

[He laughs.] You might be onto somethin' there. Sure. I'll let you know the days I'm back in the dome an' you can teach me. Sword'll likely be better'n a pitchfork anyway.

I would think so. [Pitchforks were ineffective on the battlefield...] Good. Sounds like a plan. [It would be nice to teach someone knew - not that he didn't enjoy the students he already had, few as they were.] How is sector 6 anyway?

[He throws Nico a half smile.]

Same ol' same ol'. Raptors still ain't sure how to get at me. Good thing they haven't figured out trees yet. I saw the Kangaroo people recently, but we tend to stay out of each others way...

So ... you're not making any jungle friends? [Given what most of the inhabitants of the jungle are, that would hardly be surprising. He rarely ventures in, and when he does, he raises whatever dead that haven't been cleared away as his own personal bodyguards.]

Jungle friends! Ha!

The closest would be the hummingphants, but they're wild animals and easy to startle. Which is why I needed bandaging today.

It's not about the friends anyway. It's about the relative freedom.
