Day 396; open video
[ . . . Amusing. It's too amusing. The way half the populace of Marina can't seem to talk except in song or rhyme. It feels like one of those rare occasions where she's somehow been blessedly left unaffected. She hopes that everyone she knows is. And so she's more than happy to chat away with anyone she can get talking. As for her, she's at work. Propped up on the counter at Nine White Orchids, she waves with a smile at the screen.]

Another strange day in Marina. If you've ever been too scared to karaoke before, I think today's the perfect opportunity for you to try it out! I promise to cheer everyone on. [Please someone indulge her. All amusement aside, she hadn't made a message to simply poke fun.]

Despite our real life musical, I wanted to let people know that outside of just flowers, decor and house plants, we also sell herbs at the shop. There had been some interest in it within the past, so if anyone needs something fresh, please be sure to visit us. And pay our newest employee a visit, too!

[While still recording, she takes her communicator off from around her ear, and tips it so that it faces up, while resting beside her lap to reveal the newest flower shop worker.]

Let me introduce you all to Tenshi-chan!

[Cheerfully! The white cat lying within her lap simply stretches, her paws reaching forward, before her eyes close pleasantly and she settles back into place. Lifting her communicator back up she carefully puts it back into place around her ear and grins.]

She's super sweet so come say hello, pet a cat, and buy some flowers! Or take them. There's really no buying, huh....

Very well said. [In contrast he's grinning, now.] I could say the exact same for myself. I wouldn't change anything about who I am. ♥

That's good to know, though. —Apart from that Damon guy, I imagine? He seemed to be all too willing to cause problems.

Did he?

[She can't recall a time in which he might have hurt someone.] More so, I always thought he was more talk than action. [Actually, he's quite an embarrassing person. She pointedly tries to ignore the time he had dragged her through a rather lewd museum.]

He almost refused to sell me chocolate milk once. I was really upset by it.

He was trying to give the impression of being superior because he was a vampire. I told him I'd stop him were he to ever pull anything.

[While on the opposite side, it was hilarious when he believed Ao was a woman.

He tries not to laugh with that remark.]

Let me guess. Did you go to the Blood Shack, yet not order blood?

[IT COULD BE TRUE]

Unfortunately... there are a number of vampires who might act that way. [As though they are superior. Sigh.] I can't say how it is within his own world. But considering the complex relations between vampires and humans back home, mistrust on both sides breeds a number of ridiculous notions.

[It's frustrating to be sure. Moving past that... she allows a bit of a smile to creep back into place.]

That said, you're exactly right. I don't drink blood from sources I can't confirm [It's just not her thing...] So I thought I'd have the next best thing. I wasn't impressed with the service. He tried to demand unreasonable payment, but in the end my charms won.

[He can only imagine. Even at home there are a fair amount of disparities, and that's not even between two separate species.]

. . .color me curious, but what did he even ask? [Is he allowed to ask in the first place?] Considering there's no monetary system here at all.

He wanted my own blood.

[She doesn't know how much of her own world Jae-Ha remembers, but while she doesn't consider the pureblood to be as sacred as society treats them, her blood possesses many unique traits that she doesn't simply hand out to just anyone.]

[Oh, he remembers.]

Well I'm glad he didn't get his way. —A lady shouldn't be treated as such in the first place.

[She's amused. He's a shameless flirt, but Jae-Ha actually really cares about women deep down, doesn't he.]

When I told him no, at least he respected it. Even if he was quite moody after!

[Yeah, see?]

So he respected it but still complained like a child.

[. . .not that Jae-Ha has never done that once before.]

[Well it all sounds... fairly accurate if she's honest.]

At least I had chocolate to drown it out with.

Chocolate can do many great things like that, I agree.

Are you fond of sweets, Jae-Ha-san?

You could say that. There's quite a lot more, here, than what I'm used to back home. [a beat] Or rather, they're more accessible here.

A prison is still a prison, but taking advantage of the technology and privileges here seems impossible to ignore or scoff at out of protest, hmm.

It does take a bit of the edge off, yes.

[He still is angry over the whole situation, though.]

There's been plenty for me to discover and explore, here.

With all of the new things, it's been a challenge, hasn't it? What have you missed most from home, if I may ask?

It has.

I miss traveling all over with a group of my good friends, of course. Being out in nature, too. Not that there's none of that here, but. . . there's still something different.

There's much more exotic things within Sector Six. But I wouldn't recommend visiting the place. [It's sort of unpleasant.] There's too many things that try to eat you.

Ah, right. I think I heard a bit about that. Are they really detained within that space? It seems otherwise that we'd be in much more danger.

For the most part. [On a normal day she's never known them to escape.] But in the past certain creatures have escaped. Two occasions I remember clearly-- with the raptors, those strange bee like creatures, and that terrifying presence that lurked around paralyzing people in the fear.

It's happened, so if there were to be some sort of glitch in this place, it wouldn't surprise me.

[His eyes widen with that. How could he have forgotten?]

That's right. One of my good friends had been affected by that monster. [One of his hands, though off screen, balls into a fist.] To think such a thing could even exist. . .

Mmm...

[She nods, voice somber, brows knit in all seriousness. She knows very well how terrifying those two occasions had been.]

Whatever that thing was- [She still can't say for sure] I had a confrontation with it. [But in the end, it had been such a joke. She looks a little embarrassed.] Facing it is impossible to describe. It was like a great monster was eating me alive. [She lifts a hand up to her heart.] It gave me a heart attack. I was a shaken mess afterwards. I imagine it had been a very scary experience for your friend, too.

[Oh. That sounds like something far too familiar. However, he's respectful of Shin-Ah and won't say anything. At least if it is him that Yuuki is talking about.]

It was. He had been consumed by hallucinations of our group and that he had killed them. It took a fair lot to return him to his senses, but I'm glad it was a success in the end.

I'm sure that with good friends, it helped to make all the difference.

[As frightening as that time had been, she's glad that everyone made it out safely.]

It really did. I'm grateful that nothing like it has really happened since then. I'd take the strange events over anything life threatening, but that goes without saying.
