[ . . . Amusing. It's too amusing. The way half the populace of Marina can't seem to talk except in song or rhyme. It feels like one of those rare occasions where she's somehow been blessedly left unaffected. She hopes that everyone she knows is. And so she's more than happy to chat away with anyone she can get talking. As for her, she's at work. Propped up on the counter at Nine White Orchids, she waves with a smile at the screen.]

Another strange day in Marina. If you've ever been too scared to karaoke before, I think today's the perfect opportunity for you to try it out! I promise to cheer everyone on. [Please someone indulge her. All amusement aside, she hadn't made a message to simply poke fun.]

Despite our real life musical, I wanted to let people know that outside of just flowers, decor and house plants, we also sell herbs at the shop. There had been some interest in it within the past, so if anyone needs something fresh, please be sure to visit us. And pay our newest employee a visit, too!

[While still recording, she takes her communicator off from around her ear, and tips it so that it faces up, while resting beside her lap to reveal the newest flower shop worker.]

Let me introduce you all to Tenshi-chan!

[Cheerfully! The white cat lying within her lap simply stretches, her paws reaching forward, before her eyes close pleasantly and she settles back into place. Lifting her communicator back up she carefully puts it back into place around her ear and grins.]

She's super sweet so come say hello, pet a cat, and buy some flowers! _{Or take them. There's really no buying, huh....}

You're asking about something so many years ago. [But it's not like she's forgotten. Not even a little bit. Taking her hand back, she lightly stroke's the cat's white fur in thought.]

It was two months after the furnace. I was in a deep depression. I wanted to join Kaname within the ice. [Quietly. Simply. While she blames herself for a number of things, she of course wouldn't choose to join him or do something like that now.]

I kept becoming... so painfully thirsty. I didn't know why. I was confused and scared, and holding onto my control only by a hair. It felt like... I hadn't drank anything for over a hundred years.

[If anyone thinks that pregnancy is easy, she will be the first to tell them that it one hundred million percent is not. She glances over to him apologetically.] In my desperation I dragged Zero down. Once I was finally able to drink a little and settle, we heard the heartbeat. It's embarrassing to recount. [She had been an utter wreck. Besides. Doesn't he find it a little awkward? To ask about when he discovered she was pregnant with another man's child.]

[Her words are of no real surprise. Not for the most part. It was so soon after the point he last remembers from home.

Nor is it awkward. There's no reason at all for him to question anything. Ai is Kuran's biologically, yes, but that absolutely doesn't mean that he'll automatically dislike her. Nor what he ended up engaging in with Yuuki. If anything, Zero just imagines it was a way for him to continue to be with her, even if in a roundabout way. Or something along those lines.]

I'm sorry that having you recall it aloud leaves you feeling like that.

[His hand this time goes to rest upon her head. He speaks a bit more quietly.]

. . . No apologizing, either. That's just how it ended up happening, right? I'm so grateful to know that I was able to be there for you, and of course Ai. To be able to support you like that is all I ever hope to do.

[Bangs dipping low, they fall over her eyes. That time period... she wonders sometimes at how she was able to crawl out of that deep dark forest at all. Even now, sometimes, she feels herself waver at the edges.]

I don't think you know... how very dark my thoughts were at that time. [A bitter smile turns the corner of her lips, but there's no real amusement.She can't even look at him as she speaks, he voice quiet and low.] In all that grief, I truly... I thought some terrible things. That if I... continued where Kaname left off, then he wouldn't have reason to be within that tomb anymore.

[Selfish, dangerous thoughts. Dark thoughts.]

It was such a hindrance, I thought. Because you were there. You were in my way. I thought... it would be easy to get rid of the rest of the vampires. That kind of thing was in my capabilities, you know. Especially with the new weapons.

[Isn't he... horrified to know this side of her? The her who had fallen to the very bottom of despair.]

I endlessly wished that I could forget about you. Because I wouldn't have had such reservations. I wouldn't have had to think about the past then, and about everything that happened. Or, barring that, I wanted to join him. [She glances away, even still with his hand atop her head.]

The fact that I thought those sort of things at all means that blackness is inside of me. That seed of evil that ran through not only my uncle, but Kaname, too. My mind was so painfully warped. I just felt lost and cold to anything and everything. [Like the sun had disappeared from her life, and she was alone in utter darkness. A frozen, barren land with no warmth or light. Just emptiness.]

But then... we learned about Ai. That day I was saved. No matter how terrifying the prospect of it all was. Both you and Ai saved me. I finally felt it. Just a flicker of light to start, but- both of you pulled me out of that pit of darkness. I couldn't just be selfish. [Her hand reaches out and she grasps Zero's.] I don't want to ever pull you into the darkness that had overcome me at that time.

[It's true. He knows this. He had the awareness that she may have wanted to turn Kuran into a human. Although it was more so himself. The fact that she succeed for a brief time is something he of course remembers well.]

Do you think that all of this is news to me?

[He says quietly and without even the slightest bit of judgement. Naturally he didn't know of every last intricate detail, but his intuition led him to have some sort of idea. Which is another thing he's sure that Yuuki is cognizant of, even if in small ways. It's just how he is.]

You're not evil. You never have been, and won't ever be. [He'll say so as many times as it will take. One of his hands clenches into a fist, however not so tight.] You were hurting. — you still are. I know that won't go away any time soon, but that's okay. [He understands.]

But I'm glad. Just as I said moments ago. [He laces their fingers, almost clutching her hand. If it had to be that way, he would fall into that darkness, if it meant her not being alone. He knows Ren, Ai, and yes, her father as well, would.

He, too, was once within that dark and icy cold ocean, and it was she who pulled him out of it. They have been each others' anchor. Although he knows, at the same time, how there's no comparing their experiences.]

No matter what you say. To be able to affect you so intensely. . .
