[He knew this was going to be the reaction. Maybe even down to the waver of Yuu's voice and the strained rage within every word. It's a different sort of anger than how Mika's was cold and sharp.
For the moment his attention catches on something a little different, however. Building up their trust so they could use them for blood. . .? Wherever Yuu and Mika were raised only further sickens him (and Yuuki, alike).]
We've never once consumed human blood.
[The tablets don't count. Even Zero, himself, hasn't. He drank Yuuki's blood earlier on, but technically she's always been a vampire. . .But that isn't what matters right now. It does hurt, but that, too, isn't something that he and Yuuki have the right at this moment.
What also gets him is the way Yuu mentioned that he had begun (so soon) to feel that they even were going to be like a family. Which he naturally would have accepted— maybe especially so after Ren have come and gone so quickly.
He also could have seen the way Yuu came at him, fists pounding against his chest. And he let it. He braced himself for Mika's blow as well, but just at the last moment did Yuuki interfere. ]
Yuukii—
[While a little tempted, Zero doesn't catch Mika's wrist just as quick as the boy had moved. Instead he tugs her to the side again, as if to tell her in silence to stop. This is not her fault.]
It's as she says, though. We didn't know how to bring that up when you first arrived. Not with how worried and scared you were. It wouldn't have helped. But we couldn't let it go on and on without you learning the truth.
[. . .it wouldn't have mattered though, would it? Maybe it would have made things easier, then again, maybe not.
A bit more quieted, then.]
There were a reason why I mentioned a few times about how our world isn't simply black and white. . . and of how there are vampires who only want to live quietly. None of how we - nor Ai or Haruka - have been acting towards and treating you so far has been a lie. Not even a moment of it. The only thing we want from you is that you find some kind of peace, here. It doesn't need to involve us at all.
