[He'd been angry, confused, frustrated. After everything to experience freedom for a few scant weeks and then to be brought here. To a place that calls itself a prison and yet is nothing like any prison he's ever heard of. No bars, no chains, no stone walls or blood seals to trap him in place. Instead it's more like a very odd town. One with very few people where he seemed to be able to walk wherever he wished that he feet could take him. Thus the frustration and confusion. If they intended to imprison him, they should have done it right rather than leave him in this limbo that was neither here nor there.

It took a few hours of wandering around from sector to sector to find this place and he was shocked to say the least. Vampire Blood Shack. It certainly wasn't a name that he would see on any establishment in his world...or maybe he would, things had changed a great deal since he had traveled the districts.

There was a definite smell around the place to him. Something cool, coppery, and preserved. That along with the name fed his curiosity enough to make him walk the steps it would take him to the door and push it open, inhaling the scent of the room. It was not what he expected, and yet somehow he couldn't have expected anything else. How very "modern."]

[Finally he decides to broach the "network" that had been described in the instructions of the strange little device on his head. He'd been shocked enough by learning about video recordings and cellphones, this was far beyond that. And so he toyed with it, not caring as he clicked the switches back and forth and listening a couple times to the menu. Finally he selects a public video, as he didn't know anyone in which to "filter" it to in the first place.

Those who know the location will recognize the dim lighting and the jukebox off to the side as being the Blood Shack, but currently A'oran only has an glass of ice to the left of him. His eyes are closed, head slightly tilted to the side his other hand props it up by his temple.]

If our presence here is accidental, as some have claimed, then how do the wardens explain away our unlawful imprisonment? Do they see it as a just mistake, to keep us here, however brief, despite the fact we've not yet been found guilty?

[He pulls a sliver of ice out of his glass and then pops it into his mouth to chew on. Opening is eyes, that one who pays enough attention may notice are not exactly normal for a human, he speaks through his chewing.] Although, to their credit, at least they care to provide for our needs, even if they can't find it in them to respect the basic rights of man. Visiting an intricate bauble is far from the worst circumstance to find one's self in.

They'll find you guilty of something. The wardens will bend over backwards to turn anything into a crime worthy of life imprisonment.

[A'oran chews another sliver of ice but gives a little hum of agreement.] I'm certain they've already decided to ignore the jurisdiction of our own governments, but but bringing me here on "accident" as some have said, that makes them guilty of kidnapping themselves.

Not that it matters in the least, I'll give, when they are the ones in charge of deciding who is and isn't guilty.

I don't think they care. If you're still here later, you could try talking to the wardens about it. [A shrug on his end.]

Are you hoping for a trial?

I'd hope that I've served my time well before ending up here, if there is anything truly gruesome enough I've done to warrant such confinement.

[He's had his fill of being confined anywhere, even a luxury prison.]

Not that it's hard to imagine what I've done considering the...amenities they so thoughtfully provided.

This isn't your first time in prison?

In general terms, yes, although it was not nearly as spacious or endearing. The dome is quite quaint.

[Frustrating, perhaps, in that he was trapped against his will, but the aesthetics were quaint indeed.]

Perhaps if I had been allowed to come on my own terms I wouldn't find it so stifling.

[He nods. That's a fair answer.]

It's kind of nice, having everything you need taken care of. The people here are pretty decent. Not being able to leave, though... That sucks.

[There's a soft snort.] If I had to design my own cell, I wouldn't have thought of something this intricate and expansive, but I can't say I mind the comfort.

[Of what comfort that he can find in the situation.] Has anyone tried to escape?

Oh sure. There have been attempts. No luck so far.

[Not that is interesting. He seems to sit up a bit straighter, leaning in.] What became of those who attempted? As they've already been indefinitely imprisoned, I doubt there is much more that the wardens can do without removing them altogether.

[Bonnie spends more time at the Shack than she'd like to admit. Sure, she trusts Damon with this place, but she also can't help wondering about his regulars. Or the beings that sometimes wander in. When she hears the door open, she'll glance over at him.]

Hey. [She's not in charge of service; in fact, she's sitting by the bar, with a glass of soda at her side.] I don't think I've seen you around before.

[A'oran pauses near the entrance at the sound of her voice. The smell is a bit distracting, knowing what is here does rustle at the hunger in him, but not enough to drive him to seek it out. Instead he turns his head towards her, assessing her position by the bar. She is casual, non-threatening. A'oran is cautious, but not a beast. It's only polite to respond.]

That would be a fair assessment, as this is my first tour of this establishment.

Oh! One of the newcomers, then.

[She smiles at him, waving him over with her soda glass.] Damon should be around here somewhere, but if not - and you're the kind of person who drinks his stuff - I can grab it for you.

["Who drinks his stuff"? She says it so casually. He wonders how many people in this prison drink blood, unless that isn't what she's speaking of. Should he be making such assumptions?]

If by "stuff" you mean ice, then I would be grateful. Are you certain the proprietor will not mind?
