Day 387 OTA
a. Video

[Today has been a weird day. Her mother doesn't know who she is again. There are suddenly more vampires around than there had been before and she has no idea just how many people are different from how they normally are. Ai is fairly certain that she hasn't been affected by whatever's happened but can she even be sure of that?

She does keep a journal by her bed that's filled with the more important parts of her days here and everything seems to match up but would that have changed too if her memories had as well? There's just no sure answer to that question so she can only do what she can.]

Listen up, resident of MarinaNova! Show of hands - who remembers being here and who just arrived today? I only arrived about three weeks ago but if anyone needs help, I'll do my best to assist you.

Should any of you new individuals be vampires, there is a place for you to get your blood called the Vampire Blood Shack. It's located in Sector 5. Please do not feed from any of the humans here unless you have their permission. If it isn't consensual, I will intervene. It is in your best interest to not bring on the judgement of any vampire hunters that might be around.

[Ai has no idea if her papa still thinks he's a hunter or what uncle Ichiro thinks either but she will do her best to make sure it doesn't get far enough to have them brought in on the situation. Hopefully this whole ordeal is only temporary and if it is, Ai doesn't want anyone to wake up feeling guilty about their actions today. She can't prevent everything but at least she can do this for those who suddenly became vampires.]

b. action - patrolling

[After her post, Ai can be found just about anywhere in MarinaNova. She's keeping an eye out for any trouble as if this was her job. It technically was back home but it was an academy and not a prison. Sometimes Ai is patrolling on the ground, walking through the various sectors with eyes, ears and nose on the lookout for just about any kind of trouble.

Other times she's perched up on the roof of a shop watching people go by beneath her dangling legs as Ai continues to keep her senses on alert. Today was going to be a very long day and hopefully all of this would be sorted by tomorrow. If it didn't end tonight, then she wouldn't be getting any sleep at all.

She might need to head to the Blood Shack herself if that's the case because there was no way Ai was going feed off a mother who didn't know she was Ai's mother. Hopefully this wasn't permanent because she hadn't told Yuuki anything about being her daughter and didn't plan to.]

c1. action - stationary

[At some point in the day Ai went by the library and checked out a heaping pile of books. All of them are currently piled up on an outdoor table and she's flipping through them at an alarming rate. Every single book is about technology but whatever she's looking for is obviously not yet found as she places it on top of an ever growing while she grabs another one.

Her eyes flicker left to right as she scans through the information laid out before her.]

Is it because of the dimensional stabilizer maintenance?

[Ai might seem like she's not paying attention to her surroundings - too engrossed in her research but that's the case at all. The moment someone heads for her, her head pops up to look over at them.]

c2. action

[The problem with checking out so many books is that they have to be returned. Which means that Ai is carrying a stack of books that's literally taller than she is back to the library. It doesn't look as if she has any trouble actually holding on to them - she isn't struggling under the sheer weight of them. In fact, the stack isn't even really wobbling.

What is happening is that she can't see where she's going. The books are blocking her line of vision and while she can rely on what she can actually see or smell or sense - that doesn't mean it's going to be a perfectly smooth trip.

She just so happens to bump into another person. It'll upset the stack and send it tumbling down on the pair of them. One lands on top of her head directly and even she winces a little.]

Ow.

[ While Ichiru spent some time in the library, he was still a tad bit lazy. Studies were never really his thing and he was good at it in his own way. Like Zero, he's quite gifted with a lot of things, but he chose to be his typical self and be difficult to everyone around him.

At least, he made the effort to do some research. He stepped in Ai's way without noticing her as he was engrossed in skimming through a book. He was met with the tumbling books after he bumped right into her, and picking up what she was in a matter of seconds. ]

Quite the bookworm aren't you?

[ He chuckled as he picks a book off his head and setting it aside. He starts to get back on his feet and patting himself down before getting the fallen books. ]

Sorry. [Came the immediate response before Ai was even aware of who she had just walked into. She blinks up at him when she does realize it. Well, he wasn't dismissing her and their conversation earlier was pleasant and polite.

A brief crossed her face due to how strange this all was. It felt wrong - to be here with him while he was like this. Like she was taking advantage of the situation to get close to him even if that was never Ai's intention. Ai knew about her father's role in Zero's life and hadn't wanted to be like that.

The book hitting her head hadn't really hurt but she rubs the spot where it landed anyway.]

I don't mind reading but I was attempting to research something peculiar. Unfortunately I don't think I learned much this time.

Hmm?

[ He didn't see why she had to apologize for running into him. He was a bit careless and let his thoughts run and without realizing, he ran right into her as she had the stack of books. What a great way to start off their second meeting. Ichiru didn't look too upset at all.

He starts to pick up the rest of the book and the ones that were around her and the one that hit her as he stands back up with an armful of her books in his hands this time. ]

Do share, I'm rather curious to what you have discovered if anything at all.

[She wasn't exactly sorry about running into him, just for whatever damage her books might have caused. Though Ai is silently chastisizing herself for not realizing he was there in the first place. Really, she should have known.

When he moves to pick up the books, so does she. Stacking them once again and making sure they won't topple over a second time.]

This morning the AI mentioned they were performing calibrations to the dimensional stabilizer but I believe something has gone wrong with it. Some people are acting different today.

[ He doesn't seem to care about what the reason or motivation was. Honestly, it was easier to go with the flow of things than make things even more awkward. He can tell that she wants to say something but doesn't really say it. Instead she just acts casually with him. He can't help but feel there's more to it than just what is being said. ]

That is a rather strong theory, but I don't doubt that something like that could be the reality of this place.

[ He muses as he sets the books on the table near them. ]

Weird? In what sort of way?

[ Clearly he sees nothing wrong and he doesn't seem to have much interest in that right now. ]

[There is always more to it than what's being said. Ai is from their future - from everyone's future. Even her uncle's who died a long time ago. It isn't hard to forget that he isn't especially fond of her normally simply because she's Yuuki's daughter.]

You don't know this place like I do. Even in the short amount of time I've been here I've seen quite a few things that shouldn't be possible. It's all a matter of opening your eyes to see the reality that you might be missing. Afer all, there are always secrets that some aren't allowed to know, isn't that true, Hunter-san?

[Ai organizes a stack and picks up a stack and places on the table too.]

Some individuals have forgotten they were here before and others have simply had their memories altered in different ways.

I suppose not, but that doesn't mean that everything you say is true. Of course, if you want to tell me about the things that you saw that weren't normal, feel free to. I don't see the point in stating that considering the kind of world I came from wasn't normal to begin with if that helps.

Even if I told you how could you possibly know I was telling the truth. Perhaps today the words I say are true to me but may not be true tomorrow. Memories can be altered even in our world, after all.

[Today is such a strange day - even for Ai.]

I suppose everyone acquires a few skeletons.

However, it seemed like he was definitely a lot more friendlier than his usual self. ] I suppose you do have a point.
