[She's making a lot of assumptions without substantial proof. Hak has made hiding his feelings for her an art over the last decade and even now it's not the type of thing he'd come forward to admitting. His inhibitions might be lowered but his mind is working clearly.
The last thing he wants to do is make any of this about him. The things he wanted and desired have always come in second to Yona's wishes. She is his princess and he is merely her bodyguard. It's a boundary he's had no intention of crossing until this point. No matter how much he'd desired it.
It isn't the sort of thing he wants her to know about. Ever. He'd made choices himself in the past that put him in this situation. Returning his feelings wasn't ever something he considered an option.]
Realized what?
[Don't make a bigger deal of it then it is. It isn't something he's ever dwelled over or gotten concerned about, so she shouldn't either. The less she knows about the truth, the better.
But by now her attention is focused on the pendant hanging around his neck. He watches her in amusement as she fiddles with the stone and he can actually see the moment the lights come on with awareness in her head. He knows the question is coming before it ever leaves her mouth, and he smirks slightly in anticipation.]
Like I said, some girl shoved all her feelings inside and gave it to me.
[Hak keeps one arm wrapped around her waist as the other props up his head enough to watch her as she inspects the necklace.]
It's a lapis lazuli. A stone for healing and protection. The person who gives it is supposed to put their hopes and wishes for the person they want to give it to inside of it.
This girl apparently thought I needed some happiness and good luck.
