day 380; voice;
[The lack of involvement from their captors make Bruce nervous -- if this was Gotham he would have the money to try to get food into Gotham. To help people. He would have the resources to investigate what's going on -- he lacks the gear and technology he's acquired over the years in the Batcave. There are creatures here that he didn't know really existed before like vampires asking for volunteers with the food shortage (it's not hard to put two and two together from Damon's post, after all, and the place is called the Blood Shack). How long until they lash out?

Until someone gets hurt?

It makes him restless.

He hasn't exactly been putting himself out there to make friends here beyond his first post -- Bruce is not a social being despite the airs he puts on for the public back home. He's kept in contact with Kara, and that's about it. Alfred would be disappointed -- but when isn't he?

He can survive eating less. He pushes his body to extremes on the regular -- what he worries about is other people.

He is weary and tired and he chooses not to broadcast himself at the moment and instead just speaks over the network.
]

Considering the shortage of food I can't help but wonder if we shouldn't try implementing some sort of rationing system -- we don't know how long this will last and the last thing any of us wants is to run out. The human body can endure a lot and as long as we stay hydrated we probably will survive assuming this doesn't last more than a couple more days -- but it's important to be smart about it.

Assuming it does we will need to figure out something to make the most of what we have that benefits as many people as possible.

There is a beach. I am unsure, however, whether there is any actual fish we could rely on as a good source there. It is something worth looking into.

[ Fair point, if troubling. ]

Construct and set up traps. Both in the ocean and... Sector Six. [ Because he isn't ignoring your other conversations. Where by 'not ignoring' we mean 'monitoring'. ] Minimum expenditure of calories. [ Checking the restaurants is also good, and rationing, but... for the future. ]

Have you been to the kiosk? [ Because he has. ]

Someone else did mention hunting there. Between that and the ocean we may be enough to hunt and gather if necessary without over exerting ourselves in the process.

[It could end up being that none of this is necessary but Bruce is paranoid enough that he'd rather prepare for the worst.]

I have not, yet.

That's the idea. [ Just, agreeing. And not giving away his eavesdropping. ]

Well, it's quite the spectacle. One of the programs is responding, [ also pretending not to yet have them properly sorted out, because why make a show of your hypervigilance, right? ] but only in the most rudimentary sense. 'Technical difficulties', it said. [ Lelouch scoffs. It's frankly humiliating that their well-being might come down to poor robot maintenance. ]

And what? Are we supposed to do the repairs on them? What exactly do they expect of us?

Three excellent questions. [ Lelouch smiles faintly. ] It didn't seem to want anything from me, however. Except to go away and leave it in peace. [ Pretty sure that was a fair interpretation. ] Its responses were -- distracted, I'd almost say. Which is understandable, I suppose, however... frustrating for us.

I suppose I can understand why it would be distracted, given the circumstances, but it's far from encouraging to hear.

I couldn't agree with you more. [ Mildly, ] Assuming we all live through this, a backup system with a wholly independent power source will be my first suggestion.

Yes. That would be a good plan, that way we don't end up in this situation again.

Of course, since we've had power outages before, and were apparently overrun by monsters as a result, the system might not take suggestions. But we can try.

[ this irritation is not at you, Bruce. ]
