Well, that really depended on the alien. I always found meeting them on their homeworld was better. Often they had better translation services than we did. There's usually a language barrier, and unless the Doctor's anywhere around, we can't communicate often. Plus, if they're stranded here, they're usually scared, and you know as well as I, scared creatures lash out. But when you get one who does listen, and does trust you enough to help get them home, it's really quite wonderful. Another reminder that we're not alone in this whole big universe.
