Of course Zero knew that he wasn't at fault. "I know. But I still am." Those words also said to Ichiru that he couldn't not speak them. Something of a round-about admission. Of every last thing that Ichiru went through. Even though him being chronically weak, really, was not a part of this all. For them to be born, for the hunter curse to be such a thing, that part wasn't by the hand of Kuran, nor anyone else. Although it didn't stop Zero's heart from aching, even if it, very obviously, wasn't in the same sort of manner.
Before Ichiru can make it to the door Zero was over beside him again. Not another moment more before he tugged his brother into his arms. It would be nice for him to return the gesture, but even if not, it wouldn't keep Zero. Maybe in a way it was to simply remind himself (again) that Ichiru was actually here. He wasn't a figment of his imagination. The embrace was for longer than a brief moment; it was close enough where Zero could bow his head and his forehead would come to rest on Ichiru's shoulder. His hands upon his back curled into the fabric of his shirt. — Thankfully, at least, it wasn't with such strength that would leave Ichiru hurting or unable to breathe.
Releasing him again was something which Zero had to force himself to do. He knew his twin would grow a little more irritable. He did wish to hold him for much longer.
"I won't try and stop you this time." He finally said, this time more subdued. (But please don't try and do something stupid) those words also seemed to say. He knew Ichiru would get it. As well as how he'd like to say to him to not be angry with Yuuki over this— it isn't her fault, either.
Whatever the case, though, Zero also hoped, he really did, that Ichiru wouldn't keep ignoring - no, avoiding - him, but did know ultimately he really could not force that. It would have the opposite effect.
"Just take care. Be safe." They may be baseless words to him, but Zero felt the need to say them anyway. And then, just one last thing. "I'll always be here."
