"Yeah," he agrees tensely, Spike's moment of fear echoed in his own face and voice. This is a place he visited far too often in his dreams - or nightmares - for decades after the Doctor left him here. It's not nearly so frequent these days, but just finding himself here again is enough to make all the terror come rushing right back.
He kneels up and looks around, his attention completely diverted from Spike by wondering how far away the Daleks are today, how long it'll be before they catch him, before his gun fails and there's nothing left but to face extermination with all the bravado he can muster.
He swallows. "This is where I died the first time."
