[She'd forgotten her umbrella when she walked out. Whatever. Martha certainly wasn't going to turn around and go get it. She should calm down before calling Jack. But she doesn't follow that line of reasoning either. The video of her is clearly one pissed off, wet Martha.]

Anything. You'd do anything to get him back. Bastard!

[Open Action]

After hanging up with Jack, Martha looked around. She hadn't been paying attention to where she was going, but found herself in Sector 0. Seemed she'd been walking laps. She hadn't felt this off balance in a while. She thought about going to yell at Spike too, though that honestly wouldn't make any of this better. No, perhaps she needed to go back to early in her time here when Oz had taught her meditation techniques.

The rain wasn't so helpful with this, so she made her way to the Tree Grove and found a tree with a decent overhang. It would keep her decently dry. Martha sat cross legged and closed her eyes. She forced her breathing to deepen, forced her mind to calm. The rain was had a more pleasant sound here. It added to the peace of the moment. In and out. In and out.

[He bites his lip and manages to stop himself pointing out that Spike killed him too - twice - and bit Ianto too. She's not as accustomed to such things as they are, or certainly he is, anyway. Even so, this still feels like an over-reaction, to him.]

It's nothing to do with your 21st century sensibilities! We re-souled him, Martha. He's not the same man who bit you.

[He's even more certain of this after having just talked, at length, to Spike about it.]

So that just sweeps it all under the rug! It's okay that I almost died. It was someone different that attacked me.

[She stops to take a deep breath and forces her voice to quiet.]

I get it. Ianto's important to you. Spike's important to Ianto. Thus Spike's important to you. As you said. Anything to get Ianto back.

My feelings don't even enter into the equation... so I'm taking myself out of the equation.

	Oh for goodness sake, Martha, stop being so childish! Of course it's not okay that you almost died. It was because of that, and his other attacks, that we put the soul back into him! But it's not okay to punish someone for something someone else did in their body, either. He is not the same person he was then. He wouldn't attack you now, or anyone! Childish! [Her eyes flash but she can't even begin to respond. She can't even begin to explain why she's so mad... and she knows deep down that she hasn't fully examined the root cause of any of this. Martha closes her eyes and looks up at the top of the dome, letting the rain wash over her. A moment later and she focuses back on Jack.]</small> I really do wish you every happiness Jack. But I need to step out of your lives while I figure things out.

(Although, this being Jack, it might not actually be that different. He's not the most tactful person, after all.)

Martha, look. I know it's sudden, a lot to get your head around, but it's the only way, the rules being what they are! I'm sorry you're upset but really I do think you're taking this a lot more personally than it's meant!

[Martha's lips press together in a thin line. He doesn't get it, and she's not explaining her own position very well. In fact, she's still not sure exactly why she's reacting this way. But she doesn't appreciate him telling her she's reacting poorly.]

Jack, I know when it's time for me to get out. Now is one of those times. For the sake of our friendship, please let me.

[He really hasn't got the patience to deal with this right now. He has no idea why she's overreacting like this (he doesn't have the knowledge of the time she said something similar to the Doctor, and what it meant) and he's been through a lot lately and frankly he's not willing to be gentle and patient with her.

So he throws his hands up in the air, typically over-expressive, his mouth set.]

Fine! If you can't find it in your heart to be happy for us, then fine!

[He cuts the feed. It's not how he wanted this to go, but he can't see any other way right now.]
