How many people are actually here within the virtual reality? And how many more of us are actually lost in the Dimensional Stabilizer? The number is grossly skewed. More people are lost than actually present in our current reality.

Not only do people become lost, but it can affect a person's memories, making any sort of rehabilitation gained pointless. In fact, when someone forgets it hurts not only that individual, but the other people who grew close to them, too.
