He sighs in frustration when she pauses before getting inside, and impatiently pushes her aside in order to get his own hand on the handle. "Get inside!" he hisses and pretty much shoves her in, tendrils of unreasonable fear curling around his insides as strongly as the fear of the approaching raptors.
He pauses in the doorway to check the street for sight of them, but can't make any out in the dark and eventually he slips inside and pulls the door shut behind him, slamming the bolts at top and bottom and then drawing her away from the door too, just in case.
Only then does he take in what she's just said. "Spike?" he echoes, a gamut of mixed emotions running through him because, especially after their little run-in earlier, things are so very, very complicated with Spike.
