Day 364 | Closed Action to Jack and Ianto
Martha was determined that this time around in the prison, she would actually spend time with Jack and Ianto. Which was why they were going to have dinner tonight. Casual dinner. But dinner. She happily managed to get two pizzas (one cheese and one pepperoni), some beer, and she picked up a card game (Cards Against Humanity the Universe) that looked right up Jack's alley. She thought about setting the table, but elected to stack the plates and napkins on the counter instead. They could eat in the lounge. Now all that was waiting were the gentlemen!

It's rather nice to be going out somewhere as a couple - okay they spend a lot of time together here but they don't have many occasions to actually 'go out together'. So Jack's happy and smiling as he walks the short distance to Martha's flat with Ianto on his arm and, in his normal manner, announces their arrival with a firm rat-a-tat on the door and then opens it and walks right on in.

"Martha!"

Agreed. They don't do many actual couple activities outside of the bedroom. They never have. Not that it's a bad thing, of course. But it's nice to change things occasionally. It's also nice to have the three of them back together again so Ianto is already smiling before the door even opens.

"Hello boys!" Martha replies with a grin as she makes her way forward to give them both a hug. There's something really nice about getting together without tragedy preceding it. "Just on time. Pizza's still hot and beer is all set."

Jack squeezes her affectionately and then lets her go so she can hug Ianto, already having caught the scene of pizza and prowling towards it hungrily. "Mmm, smells fantastic! This was a good idea of yours, Martha!"

He plants himself sprawlingly on one end of the sofa and just about stops himself from grabbing a slice of pizza until the other two are sitting down too.

Ianto returns her hug and follows Jack into the apartment, rolling his eyes at the way he manages to take up the whole couch. "It has been awhile since we've done something like this, hasn't it?" Even before she vanished it always seemed to take a crisis to get them all together.

These things happen! No worries.

Martha grins. "I don't know if we ever did anything like this before. Maybe we talked about it, but no actual gatherings."

With Jack taking up the entire couch, she gestures to an armchair for Ianto. While he's getting seated, she opens three beers and sets them out on the table within easy grabbing distance for everyone before finally getting her own slice of pizza.

"And how are things going with you?"

He didn't mean to take up the whole couch - he was just trying to be inclusive by angling himself towards everyone else, and being his usual extravagent self about it. He shifts up a bit and grabs Ianto before he can reach the arm chair. "Oi, you don't have to go all the way over there! Plenty of room here!"

He takes a beer from Martha with a smile of thanks and finally digs into the pizza. "Things are good," he nods, and then glances at Ianto as if to check. "Aren't they?"

Ianto manages not to spill his beer as he's hijacked to the couch. He shoots an apologetic look towards Martha in case he does manages to spill any of it on the floor before smiling at Jack's question. "Things are good. Better, now that you're back."

Martha waves a hand at Ianto. It'll wash up if anything did spill, but she has faith in his extraordinary spill avoidance. "I'm glad to hear it. It seems prison has done you two a world of good. As odd as that sounds."

Jack chuckles. "It's an odd kind of prison!" He shrugs. "I get a little bit antsy sometimes, but they fling enough things at us to keep things from getting too dull. Kissing bots, for instance," he adds, with a mischievous glance at Martha, whom he's pretty sure he's managed to get trapped with every single time they both arrived in the dome so far!

"If nothing else the traditions here keep things interesting." After all this time the kissing bots almost feel normal. "How are you adjusting to being back? I know you must miss Micky."

"The kissing bots are pretty much the most innocuous things here," she replied with a smile of her own. "Settling in as well as can be expected. Funny how weird it is to not share a bed with anyone though. I didn't realize I'd gotten so used to it."

"It is odd, isn't it?" Jack says rather heavily - he's just come back, after all, from two years spent mostly on his own after Ianto's death. Sure, there'd been people in his bed during that time, but none of them had been long-term affairs, none of them the type you cuddle all night and miss when they're gone.

He reminds himself he's got Ianto again now, here, and leans forward to take another piece of pizza. "So, did you get caught with anyone interesting on mistletoe day?" he asks Martha, to keep the conversation light.

Ianto doesn't pick up on the momentary sad turn of Jack's thoughts since he's busy helping himself to a slice of pizza. Probably just as well. "Anyone besides me, obviously."

Martha shares a look with Jack over Ianto reaching for the pizza, but she has a grin on her face by the time he's back paying attention.

"Hm... aside from you two, I also got to kiss Sam and Reid. Reid is not a fan of the bots."

He appreciates Martha's understanding, but appreciates too Ianto's apparently lack of even noticing anything, which is good because he doesn't want to get maudlin here. He takes a swig of beer, and grins at Martha around the neck of the bottle.

"Reid needs to lighten up a bit! The guy just has no sense of fun!"

"Or perhaps you have a slightly different definition of fun than the rest of us when it comes to kissing." Iantompoints out dryly.

Martha nods. "While I enjoy kissing as much as the next person, I think Ianto has the right of it," she replies. She's perhaps more of a flirt than Ianto is, though nowhere near the extent of Jack.

"And I suspect they both felt awkward kissing a married woman. Not everyone is as openminded about that sort of thing as you are Jack," she added, heading off the comment she felt sure was coming.

"But what about you to. I'm sure I'm not the only one who got caught by the bots."

Oh yeah, that comment's coming. He's taken breath and opened his mouth to make it - considers amending it slightly even after her addendum to the fact that everyone *ought* to be as openminded as he is - but in the end he thinks better of it and takes a bite of pizza instead. He knows that of anyone here, these two have heard it all before from him.

Besides... the last almost-six months of monogamy have actually started to make him at least a little more sensitive to the feelings of his beloved sitting right beside him, and thus a little more understanding about the feelings of people who aren't as openminded as Ianto (who's certainly a long way ahead of most people in that respect, even if a good deal of that was probably forced on him by having to put up with Jack).

So he leaves the subject, and instead smirks round at the two of them. "Well, there was Spike..."

A funny sort of coughing noise from Ianto as he chokes a bit on her drink at the mention of Spike and kissing. He does his best to play if off. "I kissed him, too. Also Kitty." He adds that last one a bit hurriedly, almost like he's changing the subject.

Martha rolls her eyes. "Spike. I missed him this time around thank goodness. We were trapped together last time the bots came around, which was not too long after..." she vaguely gestures to her neck and moves on.

"Was he smoking a cigarette this time? Honestly, I think that was the worst part of the experience."

Jack chuckles at Ianto's reaction and makes a bit of a show at slapping him on the back to help his 'choking'.

"No, no cigarettes this time, at least as far as I was concerned," he comments, though honestly, he's lived through the whole of the 20th century; he doesn't really have a problem with cigarette smoke. Martha having got trapped with him after having been bitten by him is a lot more concerning. But since she obviously doesn't want to talk about that, he doesn't follow it up. "To be honest, he seems to have been more interested in alcohol than smoking lately, since Rose disappeared." He glances at Ianto. "Any cigarettes in your encounter?"

They haven't really talked about this yet. He's aware they both got trapped with Spike, but that's about the extent of his knowledge.

"No, just sarcasm." It wasn't too awkward, just a kiss. Mostly he'd been worried about him and how he might be handling Rose disappearing. "It funny how we get used to the things they do here. I remember how awkward the whole kissing day was the first time around and now here we are taking about it like its normal."

Martha nods. "First mistletoe bot day was only days after I first arrived. After Tom broke off my engagement. I was livid." She shrugged. "Now it's just standard. A nuisance perhaps, but standard. Of course I'd rather not be forced to kiss people, but as far as nuisances go... it's not so bad."

Jack grins. "Oh, it's definitely one of the better traditions here. I mean, if they won't let us just sleep around willy-nilly, at least they seem to have quite a thing for that particular form of intimacy!" And he's had some good kisses from mistletoe days. He lifts an eyebrow at Martha, eyes twinkling playfully. "Funny how I always seem to get caught with certain people, though. Sometimes it's almost as they seek me out on those days!"
