Day 363 | Open
[Action + Video]

This again...

[With a frown Yuuki can't believe that once more she is sporting not only the dome's most fashionable anklet, complete with built in hunter technology, perfect for suppressing vampire abilities! But even worse she's somehow in the orange jumpsuit once more. Not only that, but she woke up upon the ground in the center of the butterfly pavilion. It's not that she hasn't napped in public before. But she'd definitely remember changing into orange comfortable clothes to do.

Not to mention...her head feels somehow- foggy. She's not really sure how else to put it. What had she been doing before now? Marina is as familiar as ever, but something feels off. Which can only mean one thing, right? At the very least she remembers how to use their communication device. All at once she flickers up onto the screen on the network. With a sandwich from The Bistro in hand (she was hungry and thought it might help clear her head) she gives a small wave.]

So... does someone want to tell me what my punishment is this time? I distinctly remember putting on a performance not all that long ago and that should have been the end of that. I mean- it wasn't that bad. Right? [Don't answer if you thought the concert was.]

Somehow I feel really disorientated.

[Although if she's back in an orange jumpsuit... had she left? But on all those other occasions she had supposedly disappeared she hadn't been forced back into prison gear. Just what's going on now?]

Zero...? And Yuuri-kun, too. Anyone really. What's going on? [The fact that she got a welcome message again... she hadn't disappeared again, had she? And if so... how long has she been away for?]

[The fact that they're generally hidden only reminds him of Alvis and the Fafners. Up until he was fourteen, Kazuki - along with most all of the children of the island, save only for Soushi - had no idea that they lived among such chaos. They weren't aware that, save for their own man-made island, Japan had been completely destroyed. Although this has since become completely transparent. The entire population knows. It's been nearly ten years for him.]

Thousands. . .

[Although, it's been speculated that the Mir even had a part to play in the creation of humanity, itself. However the Festum only really began their attack for around forty years.]

So, an element of the opponent is what ultimately aided the humans. It's better than nothing.

[Similar can be said about his world. He still frowns a bit, though.]

Is it a widespread kind of situation? [Can one not fully escape it?]

[ . . . The question furrows her brows.]

Admittedly I haven't... been all that far from home. I haven't been able to hear or see much what it's like in other countries. But the hunter's headquarters used to located close to where I lived before. I would say that things are more concentrated within Japan. But vampires can and do live all around the world.

[There's no law saying they have to stay in one location. It's only that their main government body is there.]

I'm sure there are hunters stationed in other countries as well, but the parent metal used to be within Japan.

That's understandable.

[Although the mention of other countries leaves him wondering. He might have to ask if there hasn't been any kind of international communication delivered via television or the like, but then recalls how she said that humans are mostly unaware.

There still would be ways to keep it quiet from the general population, right?

However, it's something else that his attention catches on to. Of course he could have guessed because of what her name is, but even so. ]

So you're from Japan. I am, too. [There might be just a slight hint of a bittersweet tone to his voice. He smiles a little] Have you ever been to Tokyo, then?

Tokyo...?

[Mmm... she feels like she might have heard the name before, but isn't sure. Lifting a hand up to the bridge of her nose, she tries to remember her geography.]

I might have heard that in...Eh? Is it history class? Or maybe I'm just remembering incorrectly...

[Glancing back up at him she smiles apologetically.] I think I might have heard the name before, but it's eluding me right now. Is that the name of the town you're from?

Oh. . .

[He might be a little disappointed, which she might be able to tell. He's always wondered what kind of place Tokyo was like, and Osaka. Or really any of the major cities in Japan.]

Ah, no. I'm from Tatsumiya Island, which is rather small. I wish I could see what a real city is like. I've heard Tokyo was really impressive.

[A city that was once lively and filled with new and exciting things, and not any of the daily possibility of war breaking out again, or even the chance of being killed.]

I haven't really seen any big cities either.

[If it makes him feel better. She can tell he seems a little down.] I've always... been forced sort of close to home. I used to attend an academy which my adoptive father was the headmaster of, so naturally I lived on campus.

When I left that to live with my... [ . . . ] My fiance at the time it was a very isolated location, too. In fact I'm embarrassed to admit that until recently I didn't even know how to purchase a train ticket. It was kind of heart pounding. The underground subway station is amazingly fast, though!

That sounds nice. Were there lots of students?

[The only school on the island went up to grade nine. Possibly because the teachers were (just as every adult on the island) dealing with Alvis, and more pressing matters. The safety of the island was everyone's top priority. Although, the more he began to pilot, the less time he had for school at all. It went for any of them.

He doesn't seem to surprised by her having a fiance even when so young. Sakura and Kenji were nineteen when they married.

What does brighten his expression is something else.]

Don't feel embarrassed. I've never even been on an actual train before. We have a deep sea transport, though, so I guess that could somewhat count. Trains do sound exciting, though!

There were! More so in the day class, but even I'm proud of the number of students attending in the night class, too.

[She hadn't expected that she would be able to draw anyone in. It had proven particularly challenging to begin with.]

Ehhh... more than a train, I'd say a deep sea transport sounds a lot more exciting! That would be fun! Or to fly in an airplane.

How dedicated. Your father must really have his hands full.

[Something they have in common, maybe. Although the difference between an academy headmaster and a commander is rather vast.]

You think so? It's mostly to travel to Tatsumiya's smaller islands. [where combat, and training, alike take place.] On the main island we just walk, and have cars, or bicycles.

It's certainly unique under water. Flying can be enthralling, too.

[. . depending. He's never been on a straight up plane.]

More than you might realize.

[Headmaster as well as temporary president of the Hunter's Associaition. She imagines that it's a full plate.]

Do you get to fly a lot?

[The novelty wore off almost immediately after he began piloting. It isn't right to see it as fun.

He isn't very sure how he should reply to that. If he states it's just a part of his job - the primary means of fighting a war - she might bring up a whole new set of questions.]

It's been a little while since I last did so. I don't mind, though.

[Since it's actually been relatively peaceful.]

Really? [Flying should be liberating she thinks, or something like that. Although she supposes for many people maybe it's a little scary, too.]

It wont be the same, but maybe you'd be able to do something like hang-gliding here. It's worth a shot. Although you might need more height than this place offers... [She doesn't know]

[Fighting the enemy, aside, the vessel used is incredibly dangerous on its own. Not to mention literally connected to its pilot via their nervous system.]

Hang-gliding. . .? [a little amused] I wouldn't mind trying that out at all.

Although I'd really like to get a bicycle.

I bet if you ask the wardens for one, they'll get you one.
