action;
[Kitty sits and listens as Leia relates her story. It doesn't really make sense to her why Rebecca ever would have advised this as a good idea in such a context. Why would Reid like that? If anything his line of work made it harder for him to enjoy things that were more on the edge. Not that her own tastes lay there either. Still, she doesn't know what Rebecca or Reid's point of view would have been. Seen someone in a fiction can't be the same as knowing a real, whole person like the angry woman before her.
By the end she's more impressed with Leia than anything. It couldn't have been easy to take out her captor like that. Kitty's life was marked by a long string of struggles too sad and dark for even a country song, but she'd never had to face sexual abuse—not to that degree. It wasn't absent from her world. After all, Blink had been touched by Sugar Man as just a child. Kitty's fate might have been similar if the X-Men hadn't rescued her before she went to the pits. The main goal there is genetic manipulation, but it isn't the only horror waiting.]
You have every right to be mad. And if I could go help you rescue slave girls now I would. Just... It wasn't Reid's idea. [And she's going to leave Rebecca's name out.] And nothing happened. [Not entirely true. They did go on to have sex that night, but the outfit made things awkward, it didn't heat them up. It was gone by the time the real passion and intimacy came out.]
