You were. Not every time, but once and for awhile. [Kitty takes a breath, gathering her thoughts on some nice bite-sized chunks of robot info.]
We know what they want us to know for the most part. The sassy one is Veridical and the personality-displaced one is Conscienti. They usually take turns delivering a morning message and fielding requests and questions at the kiosk. Some days they are both unresponsive. It's usually when something big is going down. They are usually pretty vague and brief or insulting when it comes to answering questions.
They're also not the ones really in charge. Not sure who that is exactly. We know there are engineers, but above them? Who knows. Maybe no one [but unlikely she thinks based on the investigation that took place after the inmates learned the truth about their real bodies lying in pods while they live all this out in their connected minds] maybe a long line of middle management between us and freedom.
The wardens don't take physical form, but they probably can. It's happened before at the last prison. So, yeah, this isn't our first one. The original was just named Marina. [Maybe that wasn't so bite-sized. More like a snack. Light lunch?]
